Chapter 10 Unit Assignment

1.) If I were to open my own restaurant I would try to implement many of the tactics and
strategies that were talked about in this chapter. The first thing I would focus on would
be the quality of the food I would be providing and the type of environment I would want
my customers to experience while in my restaurant. I think my main focus would be with
the food and quality that I would be giving to my customers. I feel that is the most
important thing and when this aspect is what drives the customers you will have a bigger
loyal customer base.
2.) The second thing I would try to implement for my restaurant would be having good
customers service that is attentive and able to solve problems fast and effectively.
People want things done fast and if you some kind of issue arises where they get a
wrong order or their food isn’t tasting okay being able to execute and solve minor things
like these will make a huge difference and place you at a higher ranking in the hearts of
your customer.
3.) I think focusing on helping the community and being an active member of society will
help in creating better relationships and growing your reputation with the customers.
Today people are very aware if a business is doing something positive that is helping
people or helping the environment in many ways possible. Also as a business I wouldn’t
want to be known for just being a restaurant I would want to be known for doing many
things and making a change in many different ways.
4.) Another thing I would like to incorporate into this restaurant would be a easy way of
having the customers be able to communicate and customize their orders. To have it be
like some kind of social media but specifically for the restaurant and be able to have the
customers interact and post things in order to have more interaction with the customers
and what things they like and things they would like to see.
5.) The last thing I would try to focus on would be to add some kind of culture or spark some
kind of inspiration every time someone comes to the restaurant and have it change
weekly to keep things new and interesting. For example the artwork on the walls,
decorations, promotions, giveaways, and other activities that would make visiting the
restaurant fun and engaging while still providing good food and overall services.
