Interactive Design using Virtual Reality is a concept for making and taking decisions
about home designs with the aid of Virtual Reality. It is a project for the real estate industry
where every customer prepares to buy his dream house on the basis of imagination and promises
made by the builder and architect .
The project aims to enable users to visualize and customize the In-house design before it
is built. Users can get 3-D view of the house how it would actually look after it is built and if
necessary changes needed then they can make it in real-time.
The project is a novel approach to provide unique immersive experience to the customer before
buying a house and provides multiple additional facilities.
II
INTRODUCTION Chapter – 1
1. INTRODUCTION
Additionally, it will also be contain a color changing pallet which will be help user customize and
change wall colors, texture of materials of the house which will be done in real-time.
1.3 Aims and Objectives
The basic objective of this project is,
.
INTRODUCTION Chapter – 1
Introduction :
The present invention relates to a virtual reality (VR) design-based home decoration design
system. The system comprises a database, a data updating module, a furniture home decoration
data acquisition module, a client, an information receiving module, an information sending unit, a
central processing unit, a three-dimensional effect generation module, a decoration budget
module, a man-machine operation module and a data sharing module. Since three-dimensional
virtual scenes are based on the real data of apartment patterns, and virtual imaging can be
performed on a decoration effect selected by a customer, and therefore, very accurate decoration
budgets can be automatically generated. With the system adopted, the prolonging of a
construction period due to the change of a decoration schemein an entire decoration process can
be avoided, and therefore, the severe fluctuation of the prices of decoration due to the prolonging
of the construction period can be avoided.
INTRODUCTION Chapter – 1
Introduction :
The present invention provides a virtual reality model as House of operating systems and
operating methods, and more particularly, apartments, houses, shops, buildings such as the
buildings pre-sale projects related to the design item (item) in the interior of the internal
architecture to object (object) the present invention relates to a virtual reality model house
operating system and operating method for visually immersive and realistic so that the
simulation (simulation) interior based virtual reality simulation system integrators.
Virtual reality of the present invention Houses operating system common 3D authoring software,
the company's products, such as 3DS-MAX, VIZ, Auto CAD, connect a 3D authoring software,
or these software such as Micro Station, portability, which is convenient guaranteed the open and
modular technology and user features 3D objects (object) for the virtual reality model house for
the content data created using a specially designed self-authoring engine software have the
information assisted the Web interface for the use and publication (publish) Accordingly, it has
the scalability and integration.
INTRODUCTION Chapter – 1
The users are being classified according to their role of using system.
Builders
Build house on model designed.
Estimate the cost of the materials finalized.
Estimate and suggests whether changes are feasible
Architect
Design the interior 3-D model
Change design based on changes suggested by user
Suggest the user with possible changes
Add new materials and color to the palet
Customers
View the model
Suggest design changes
Change design and color using the palet
Make dccision of buying the property or not

SYSTEM ANALYSIS/DESIGN Chapter – 2
2. SYSTEM ANALYSIS
2.1 Study of current system
The architect prepares 2-D Interior model of the house based on the exterior
Specifications specified by the construction company.
The brochure of the house is prepared by the construction company to provide details to
the potential customer.
The customer is said to make a decision of buying the property based on the brochure and
claims made by the builder on the colors, materials used during construction.
• With the assistance of virtual reality software; projects, designs and concepts can be
brought to life prior to execution, so no need to start breaking ground or buying materials.
• Giving designers the ability to finalize details through effective planning and visual
conceptualizations means that project viability can be determined much earlier in
the process
• These detailed and explicit plans can then be accurately communicated to contractors and
construction teams.
• Helps the designers to eliminate any scope of calculation error from creeping in.
Designers can let us walk through their designs and interact in endless possible ways
• Infinite customization

Fig.3.1AEIOU Canvas
The AEIOU canvas helps to get the ideology about five main elements: Activities, Environment,
Interaction, Objects, and Users.
Activities
Activities are the task and methods or actions that are related to the users and those that would be
available to them. The activities that would be available and used by the user are Builders,
Lawyers, Doctors, Teachers, Construction Workers, Businessmen, Engineer, Architect.
Design Engineering Canvas Chapter – 3
Environment
Environment is nothing but the arena or platforms in which the activities would be used and
implemented.
Interaction
Interaction provides the activities that occur between people and between people and the
environment. Interaction between our product and user will provide the user features.
Objects
Objects are the building blocks of the environment and occur in the environment with respective
to their usage. For the project we will be using Computer and other Software.
Users
Users are the people who use and develop the system, that is the intended people or group for
which the product is designed. The system could be used by Builders, Lawyers, Doctors,
Teachers, Construction Workers, Businessmen, Engineer, Architect.
Design Engineering Canvas Chapter – 3
Fig.3.3Ideation Canvas
In ideation canvas we try to generate, develop and communicate about new ideas related to the
product and try to improve it. Cases that we need to ideate are,
People
In this case we grouped the people for which we are interested in solving the problem. They
include Builders, Lawyers, Doctors, Teachers, Construction Workers, Businessmen, Engineer,
Architect.
Activities
In this case we mentioned the activities that are required by the people and the features that will
be provided the users.
Situation/Context/Location
This case is related to activities. Every activity that is mentioned in the ideation canvas may be
done in various situations, locations and contexts. Our system will be used for entertainment.
Design Engineering Canvas Chapter – 3
Props/Possible Solutions
In this case all the possible ideas and solutions are grouped in accordance to the defined project
and challenges in the project. Virtual Reality which enables users to visualize and customize the
In-house design before it is built. Customers can’t tell how it would look using just the 2-D
model. We offer real-time visualization in virtual reality
Purpose
The purpose groups the main idea over which the project is defined. They include 3D
visualization, Customization.
People
Here the specific group of people that are closely related to the product are grouped. That include
Builders, Lawyers, Doctors, Teachers, Construction Workers, Businessmen, Engineer, Architect.
Product Experience
Here the product feedback or review and the problems solved is grouped. The product was
feasible in terms of the Cost, intuitive, Easy to use.
Product Function
Here the main function that solves the problem is mentioned. The main function is to see how the
changed/personalized objects would look in real life.
Product Features
Here the fundamental features of the project are grouped. The important features of the project
include User friendly, Real-Time Texture Remapping.
Components
Here the components that will be used are grouped. Components used in the project include
Sketchup by Google,Vray Render,VR-Headset,Unity,Adobe Photoshop
Customer Revalidation
Here the requirements of the customer are taken into considerations. The customer wanted the
system to be cost effective, easy to use and the most important was the life of the product.
Reject, Redesign & Retain
This part of the canvas depends upon the customer satisfaction, and the product features would
be required to redesign and retain if rejected by the customer.
IMPLEMENTATION Chapter-4
4.Implementation
4.1 Snapshots
With the assistance of virtual reality software; projects, designs and concepts can be
brought to life prior to execution, so no need to start breaking ground or buying materials.
Giving designers the ability to finalize details through effective planning and visual
conceptualizations means that project viability can be determined much earlier in the
process
These detailed and explicit plans can then be accurately communicated to contractors and
construction teams.
Modify or hide walls, doors, windows, furniture, decorative objects or natural and
artificial light conditions, change the color of wall paint, add or remove layers
Infinite customization
