11. Derive an expression for inductance of 1-Ø over head transmission line.
12. a).what is corona and state the methods of reducing CORONA.
b).classify the distribution systems.
13. A 1-ⱷ transmission line with loop resistance of 16Ω loop inductance of 0.2H and loop
capacitance of 0.6µF delivers 1.2 mVA ,0.8 lag load at 22 KV and 50 Hz. calculate
(a)voltage (b) current (c) power factor at the sending end by nominal 𝜋 method.
14. (a)Derive an expression for sag when suspended at same level.
(b).An over head line has a span of 200 m ,the line conductor weight 0.7 kg/m. calculate
the sag if the maximum allowable tension in the line is 1400kg.
15. (a).Mention any five causes for failure of insulators.
(b).An insulator string consists of 3 units, each having a safe working voltage of 15 KV.
The ratio of self capacitance to shunt capacitance of each unit is 8:1. Find the maximum
safe working voltage of string. Find the string efficiency.
16. Derive expression for insulation resistance of cable.
b).A single core cable 4 km long has insulation resistance of 0.4 M Ω. If the conductor diameter is
20mm and sheath diameter is 50mm, calculate the resistivity of the dielectric in the cable.
17. Explain the various types equipments used in substation.
18. Find the sending end voltage of AC distributor as shown in figure.
