Mr. Nathe,

I am applying for the position available for US History teacher for the high school. I was
informed about the opening by way of mouth from other teachers at the school. I believe I am a
very good match for this position. Not only am I highly qualified with a degree in Educational
Studies with a specialty in US History from Arizona State University, I also love the subject and
am passionate about it. I not only want to teach the students about what their ancestors went
through but I also want to help prepare them for life after school.

My passion for US History has only grown over time. I love learning as much as I can
about what has made out country what it is today. I highly enjoy learning new things about our
history. When I hear about a topic in history, I study that topic for several months to learn what I
can about it. I have spent many summers reading about each president and important events that
happened during their presidency. I want to take what I have learned and teach the students this.
I want to help them understand our history as best as I can. I want them to realize what their
ancestors went through for them to have the freedoms they have today. I want them to challenge
the status quo and help make sure that history does not repeat itself.

Many students graduate high school without being ready for the real world. There are
things parents are supposed to teach their kids that are not always taught at home because the
parents are not always present. This is where I feel we as educators are supposed to fill those
gaps. Students need to understand that as an adult, things are not handed to us. We need to put in
hard work to help us succeed in life. I also want to prepare them for things not always going ow
we want to Instead of giving up we should learn from it and try again. Giving up should never be
an option to my students.

I am a very good match for this position. Not only o I have passion for what I want to
teach but I care about my students. I want them all to succeed in everything they dream to do. I
