Topic: Tips for fighting homesickness

Dear Students,
You will participate in an assignment of making a video about tips to fight homesickness.

Here the steps to complete the assignment.

Step 1:
Listen to a podcast about homesickness.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/worldservice/learningenglish/general/sixminute/2013/09/130919_6min
_homesickness.shtml

Click in Audio.
You can read the script (Text) if you want, too.

Step 2:
After listening to the podcast (and reading the script, perhaps), get ready to record a video. In
the video you will tell us about tips to fight homesickness, other than the ones Jennifer and
Finn discussed in the podcast. Organize your ideas and write your script. Remember to use the
language you have studied in units 2 and 3:
 present perfect simple: affirmative and negative
 present perfect progressive: affirmative and negative
 time expressions: for, since, already, yet, just
 vocabulary about study abroad

Step 3:
Stand in front of the camera and record your video telling us about 3 new tips to fight
homesickness. Explain. Give details. Practice several times before recording the final version
of your video. Do not forget to look at the camera when you speak. Don’t just read.
Here are some things to keep in mind while recording your video:
 Speak as clearly as possible.
 Smile.
 Be in a well-lit area.
 Be confident.
