Animal Testing and Experiments

Ever since I was a little girl I have always loved and cared about animals. Before I

decided to be an RN and work in the healthcare filed I wanted to be a vet and work with

animals. I decided against working as a vet because it’s nothing like taking care of actual people.

Unlike people animals can’t tell you what is wrong with them. They can’t tell you how they are

feeling and what is bothering them, and I thought that would be very hard for me to deal with. I

have always had animals growing up and they are my absolute world. My animals are just like

family to me and I would do absolutely anything and everything I can for them to make them

happy and live a great life.

It wasn’t until a couple of years ago that I started looking into animal testing and what it

actually was and what they use the animals for. I guess it started to spark my interest when I

got big into makeup and I started to realize that there were some makeup products I owned

that had a little bunny symbol on them and some of the makeup didn’t have the bunny on

them. I didn’t even know what it stood for, so of course I looked it up. I then saw that the

bunny stood for cruelty free, which meant that they did not test that product on animals. From

that day forward I started to try and get products that were cruelty free because I don’t feel

that it is right to test things on innocent animals just so humans can have makeup and luxury

items. Little did I know it went way beyond makeup and that is why I have decided to look into

this topic of animal testing an experiments, I want more people to know that animal testing is

actually more harm than good and that its actually not necessary.

I feel very strong against animal testing and animal experiments. From what I have read

and researched it is not necessary, there is more harm than good and the statistics of animal

experiments are not good. For example, when it comes to makeup there are products that are

tested on animals but when released to the public for human use they still cause a reaction for

humans. I have not done a lot of research into it, but as of now I feel strongly against it. I feel

once I start to dig and look more in depth of animal testing and animal experiments I will find a

lot of evidence that backs up my feeling of it being unnecessary. I believe that now days there

are people who are willing to be in research studies, so why not let them be in the experiment

instead of animals. I feel like it will be more beneficial for a human to be the ones being tested

on because they are going to be the ones using the products in the long run. I know that animal

testing is a very common and that it is crueler than most people acutely realize. I know that labs

and testing areas try to hide the real truth behind what they are doing which is cruel and un

ethical.

I still need to learn more concrete facts about animal testing such as the statistics and

how reliable and accurate animal testing is. I hope to learn more about what actually happens

in the lab. I want to know what the animals go through while they are being used for an

experiment and I want to know what happens to them once they are done being used for an

experiment. I would also like to know what all the alternatives to animal testing are and why

they are not being done. I believe that I will find some of my information on sites such as PETA

because they have done a lot of research into this topic and this is what they are all about.

Being against animal abuse, animal testing, and experiments. I would love to find out a way that

I can contribute to the stopping of animal testing and experiments.
