Effectiveness Of Multimedia Devices in Teaching Kindergartners in


Studying Alphabets of K-Papaya of Inhobol Elementary School

I.RATIONALE

Teaching kindergarten isn't as easy as it sounds. To teach young children, you'll


have to have patience, concentration, and clear educational goals in
mind.Teaching the alphabet to kindergartners is not an easy task specially for
learners who just step in to formal education, the kindergarten. Helping them to
recognize letters' shapes and sounds as well as to let them know that some
letters have different sounds, depending on the way that the letters are said or
written requires a creative strategies for a teacher. Hence, using a multimedia
devices can be of a great help to make learning fun.

"Multimedia can stimulate more than one sense at a time, and in doing so, may
be more attention-getting and attention-holding. Using multimedia
in classroom helps educators engage students and provide them with valuable
learning opportunities. It’s easy to remember a picture than a paragraph, an
animated video of a concept worth more of a lecture and a video demonstration
of a process (or an instrument) by a scientist gives more real time knowledge
than a theoretical explanation. “

II. PROPOSED STRATEGIES

In order to determine the Effectiveness Of Multimedia Devices in Teaching


Kindergartners in Studying Alphabets

1. Downloaded Phonic songs with a picture for each letters.

2. Print-out letters to be designed by kindergartners to increase retention rates


III. STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM

The purpose of this study is to determine effectiveness of multimedia devices in


teaching kindergartners in studying alphabets

Specifically it will answer the following:

1. Does multimedia devices will give a high performance for kindergartners?

2. Does multimedia devices will contribute in the retention and appreciation of


learning alphabets?

3. Does multimedia devices increase the interest of kindergartners?

IV. METHOD

The researcher will seek approval from the person concern by presenting the
action research proposal. Upon approval of the proposal ,Multimedia devices will
be used in teaching alphabets through the use of internet.The researcher will
download phonic songs with the pictures of each letter. And to increase retention
of the learned letters ,print out of letters will be designed by kindergartners. It
will also develops the skills and appreciation for arts.

Conduct ECCD (Early Childhood Checklist Development) on November and


February and SREYA (School Readiness Year-End Assesment) on March.

The researcher will compare and analyse the results . The scores shall be the
basis to determine the the effectiveness of multimedia devices in teaching
kindergartners in studying alphabets .

A. Research Design

This study is design to determine the Effectiveness Of Multimedia Devices in


Teaching Kindergartners in Studying Alphabets .

This action research is experimental in nature which uses ECCD and SREYA
results (ECCD and SREYA of SY 2015 versus ECCD and SREYA of SY 2016) to
determine the effectiveness of multimedia devices.

Effectiveness Of Multimedia Devices in Teaching Kindergartners in


Studying Numbers of K-Saging of Inhobol Elementary School

I.RATIONALE

"Multimedia can stimulate more than one sense at a time, and in doing so, may
be more attention-getting and attention-holding. Using multimedia
in classroom helps educators engage students and provide them with valuable
learning opportunities. It’s easy to remember a picture than a paragraph, an
animated video of a concept worth more of a lecture and a video demonstration
of a process (or an instrument) by a scientist gives more real time knowledge
than a theoretical explanation. “

Many children enter kindergarten with some knowledge of numbers and


counting. They can count five to ten objects accurately and can also read some
numbers. But many other children have not developed this knowledge yet. These
children in particular need many opportunities to learn the words for numbers, to
count things, and to learn to read and write numbers. Through the help of
multimedia devices such as video presentation for number songs and pictures for
each numbers not to add the art inculcated in designing a print-out numbers will
make number counting fun and easy for a first time schoolers.

Many children grade school with some knowledge of numbers and counting.
They can count five to ten objects accurately and can also read some numbers. But
many other children have not developed this knowledge yet. These children in particular
need many opportunities to learn the words for numbers, to count things, and to learn
to read and write numbers. Through the help of multimedia devices such as video
presentation for number songs and pictures for each numbers not to add the art
