A Fun Way to Learn English

As one of the most spoken language in this world, English is very popular to learn in most
of levels and background of people. The reasons why they learn English is various, for instance as
an academical requirements, or any specific occupation. Many people attempt to improve their
English skill by any kinds of way that they are like. Everyone has their own “style” to learn
English. There are people who learn English in a specific course of English, such as English for
secretary, English for aviation, English for tourism, etc. Meanwhile, there are people who enjoy
their way to learn English by themselves or we could say autodidactly, such as through watching
a film, listening song, reading an English newspaper or article, and many more.
I believe that the important things in learning a language is to get used into it. The more
we use the language, the more we get use to it. Many people out there are questioning how to learn
English in instant way? The answer is no instant way to achieves something. All the better, we
need to find our own styles in learning English. Something fun maybe, because the key is to make
learning English fun through the right tools and habits.
One of those way that we can try, and it is quiete familiar and popular in English learners.
We could learn English through listening music. It is the best tools that was sitting there all along,
right inside your smartphone. Music is one of the most accessible art forms on earth and we enjoy
it because it helps us relax or meditate. By listening an English music, we’d take some time out to
explore exactly how beneficial music is to your language development skills. Music can be a
valuable skill to help you retain what you learn.
Some advantages that we can get when learn English by listening music are, especially, in
term of strengthen your vocabulary and listening skills. When listening to a song, you’ll pick up
new words that you haven’t heard before or notice some words that are being used in different
meaning. Music can help your brain be more receptive to hearing English. Second is, by listening
a song we know how to pronounce words well (like a native). Once you have learned the lyrics,
you can practice your pronunciation. By a song and sing it song, it will help you to learn the correct
pronunciation of the words and will also help you remind easily the new vocabulary you have
learned.
Beside on the advantages, frankly, there is one weakness when we learn English through
listening a song. We could not learn a correct grammar by a song. If you have a good eye for
mistakes, you can find many grammar “exceptions” songwriters usually use. Sometimes singer
need to adapt the lyrics to the rhythm of the song, so they take some creative liberties and use
grammatical errors on purpose.
So, music is an effective way to learn English in some aspects. I couldn’t say it is the “best”
way in learning English because there found some weaknesses on it. However, music is the best
way in learning English to improve your listening skill, strengthen your vocabulary, and perfect
your pronunciation as well.
