DAILY LESSON PLAN IN ENGLISH 7

“THE ORIGIN OF THE WORLD”

I. Objectives
A. Content Standard

The learner demonstrates understanding of: pre-colonial Philippine literature as a


means of connecting to the past; barious reading styles; ways of determining word
meaning; the sounds of English and the prosodic features of speech; and correct
subject-verb agreement.

B. Performance Standard

The learner transfers learning by: showing appreciation for the literature of the past ;
comprehending texts using appropriate reading styles; participating in conversations using
appropriate context-dependent expressions; producing English sounds correctly and using
the prosodic features of speech effectively in various situations; and observing correct
subject-verb agreement.

C. Learning Competencies/ Objectives

EN7RC-Ia-7: Use the appropriate reading style (intensive reading) for one’s purpose,
EN7LT-Ia-1 Discover literature as a means of connecting to the past.

IV. Procedure

A. Before the Lesson

Preliminary Activities

c) Classroom Structuring
d) Checking of Attendance
e) Motivation

Present a video that emphasizes on creation of the world.


Ask: What is suggested by the video they just viewed.

B. During the Lesson

The teacher gives a short activity on how to make a word web by using
“Creation” as the main word at the center. Let students come up with words they could
associate with it which they have seen in the video.
The reading of motive questions is next by letting students read the
questions which they would answer after they read the selection orally. Then follows the
reading of the selection. Answering of process questions.

C. After the Lesson

The learners are given a group task to complete a word web followed by a
short evaluation to let them recall and reflect on what they have read.

D. Valuing

Ask learners if they want to go to heaven someday. And what should they do
to deserve to go to heaven. Let them realize the importance of being a good person because
it makes us blessed in many ways.

Read: “The Legend of Maria Makiling”
