An organized entity

Is composed of people who interact with each other on a relatively continuing

basis in some sort of a structure to achieve the organization’s goals

Has goals which are usually not attainable by one person working alone but are
achievable as a group

Has members who operate as if they have a continuing but not permanent bond
with each other through the roles they have in the organization

Which has a boundary that differentiates who is a part of the organization

Has an implicit understanding or an explicit contract (or both) regarding what the
members should do for the organization and what the members get in return
