How is The Reality of The School Prking Lot.

1st Speaker:
Good morning ladies and gentlemen, all the participants, the judges, and the members of
the teams. Let me introduce myself, I am Dessy Purnama Sari as the 1st speaker of the Positive
Team. Before we get into the topic, I would like to introduce my team members. Indra as the
second speaker, and Widya Megantara as the third speaker.
Our topic today is: “How is the reality of the school parking lot.” As we know, the
meaning of the word ‘parking’ based on dictionary is to stop and put the vehicles for some times
in a place which has been provided. So, here in SMAN 1 Kuta Utara, a parking area has been
provided for the students. In which the headmaster has attempted to provide a wide and adequate
to accommodate students’ vehicles. We think the parking area is not too far from school, it’s
only few meters on the south of the school. We strongly agree this school’s program, in which
this wide parking area will sufficient to accommodate all the tenth, eleventh, and twelfth grade
students’ vehicles.

Negative Team

Good morning ladies and gentlemen, all the participants, the judges, and the members of
the teams. Okay, let`s we get on. I`d introduce myself, I am Rai Devi as the 1st speaker of the
negative team. Before we get into the topic, I would like to introduce my team members. Ayu
Wiwin as the second speaker, and Ayu Leastari as the third speaker.
Our topic today is: “How is the reality of the school parking lot.” As the Positive Team
Speaker said that they approve the school program that provides a parking area in the south of
the school, but we as the Negative Team don’t approve the program because it is very
disadvantageous for the students. The distance between the parking area and the school is far
enough to waste their time and cause lateness. Furthermore, it can exhaust their energy just to
reach the school. Even though the parking area is wide, it don’t guarantee the comfort and the
safety, moreover, there is no CCTV installed. Why don’t we rent the previous parking area?
Positive Team
2nd Speaker:
If we use the previous parking area on the north side of the school, as we can see, the
vehicles were not well organized. Moreover, this parking area has less comfortable road, and
also the stones on the ground make us inconvenient to ride on it. Although there is no CCTV
installed in this new parking area, we can see a monitoring post which is high enough. In this
post, the security guards can supervise and monitor the whole parking area clearly. As we can
see the security guards responsibility in organizing the parked vehicles so the vehicles become
well organized. The parking arrangement is good so it can be divided into 3 different spots, as
what I have said before, in which the west side is for the tenth grade students’ vehicles, the
eleventh grade students’ vehicles are in the middle, and the east side is for twelfth grade
students’ vehicles.

Negative Team
2nd Speaker:
Discussing about the parking area in the south, as we know, it is not installed by CCTV.
Although it is supervised by security guards, they certainly need time to rest and they may be
possible to do unintentional negligence in securing and supervising the area. Besides, on rainy
day, the parking area can be dangerous and threaten our safety because it is usually muddy and
slippery, so it would be very inconvenient and dangerous to ride motorbike, and slip when we are
walking. The mud splash also can dirty our uniforms. As well as rainy day, when the weather is
hot, the students would be very exhausted just to reach the parking area due to its far distance. It
also has negative impact for our vehicles if it is sunbaked for too long. For the last and the most
important thing, we have to consider more on our health, as we can see, the area is very dusty,
and of course it can endanger our health, especially respiratory.

Positive Team
3rd Speaker
Nevertheless, we think the parking area we use now has benefit for students’ health. We
walk from there to the school every morning is just as doing sport. We can breathe fresh air and
enjoy green scenery in and around the parking area.
 The place is green and more open to reduce the pollution. With this parking area, the students
don’t need to seek another parking area, and also there are some security guards which
responsible for the safety and is expected that the security will be increased.

Negative Team
3rd Speaker:
Besides safety, there are also other things that we have to notice, and the things could be
a problem that comes from the students themselves, and sometimes it is difficult to solve. If we
take a look at the past phenomena, even though the CCTV was already installed, and supervised
by security guards, helmet theft or other incidents were still happened and cannot be avoided. It
can be concluded that the security cannot be always well maintained.

Negative Team
Reply Speaker:
We are still on our team opinion, that we don’t approve the new parking area that
provided by the school because we think it brings negative impacts for the students, such as the
long distance between the school and the parking area, the bad condition, the dust that endanger
our health and respiratory, and so on.

Positive Team
Reply Speaker:
Based on our argument, we approve the school’s program that provides a wide parking
area for the students of SMAN 1 Kuta Utara. Indeed, the security will be increased. Therefore,
the students don’t need to worry about their vehicles, since it will always be supervised and
monitored by the security guards, so they can focus on their study.
