What is your plan for RED DAY?

Red Day Plan:

Based upon the Theme 1 Test Results I will reteach and retest objectives students
had not shown mastery. I will then reassess students that had not scored a grade of
80 or above on the original assessment.

Students with existing mastery will be assigned an enrichment activity.

RED:
Student Led Quiz Review - Teacher will divide students in groups of 4 and designate ONE
student to be the team lead. Each group will do quiz reviews and write the correct
answer/explanation for each question.
Group Review/Edgenuity - Students will then be divided into groups of 5 to briefly review a
topic to the class.

STEM:
Chemistry: Students will complete a lab to test the physical and chemical properties of
household properties: vinegar, baking soda, juice, water, kool-aid, and baking powder,
Environmental: Students will use a variety of given supplies and materials to make a working
model of the water cycle.
Allen
On RED days students will be assigned to three different categories based on student data.

Category 1: Students will complete an edpuzzle review activity of a previously failed standard. Upon completion of the
Edpuzzle students can retake the assessment during the RAM day after school.

Category 2: Students will complete an edpuzzle review activity of a previously failed standard. Upon completion of the
Edpuzzle students can retake the assessment during the RAM day after school.

Category 3: Enrichment - Students who have not failed either standard will complete an enrichment activity via Edpuzzle.
Students who fail to complete the enrichment activity will receive a zero.

Students who complete the edpuzzle but fail to attend RAM up and retake the assessment will have their failing grade replaced
with a 60. Students who fail to complete the Edpuzzle will receive a 0 for the Edpuzzle and their grades will not be changed
once RAM up is over.

STEM ACTIVITY: Seniors will explore the various careers in STEM and write an introductory paragraph to an
argumentative essay evaluating if the stem career is an appropriate career choice for them. (W1) Sophomores will also
explore the various careers in STEM, but they will write an objective summary about the career (RL2).

RAM cut-off: students are always allowed to turn in late work, and the checking of
their late code takes place regularly during tutorials

RED day: students will work on an assignment which focuses on the key building
blocks of code necessary going forward (they will be required to use an if-else
statement, a for loop, and implement some kind of algorithm throughout the code as
well as explain their thought processes); this will enable remediation for students
who are behind and may have missed these core ideas, and enrichment (and added
complexity of code) for those students who have kept up with the pace of the course

RAM work cannot be submitted after 1 week of receiving progress reports. All RAM
work is graded for accuracy and not completion. Projects are not considered RAM
work and are accepted until the semester is over. Projects that are turned in after
the progress report can only receive a grade of 50.

RED days will be guided around summative tests. These days will occur twice a unit.
The assignments will be completed on McGraw Hill and USATestPrep. Students who
require more extensive remediation will complete customized lesson on Edgenuity
and EdPuzzle.

STEM: Algebra 2 -construct roller coasters to model polynomials; Precalculus -

assess speed bumps and parking deck ramps;
Dawson
Guilford Miller
RED day- Students log on to Acitvelylearn.com.

Teacher will assign stories that cover the standards in which students have not
mastered.

Each story has points assigned to the story. Students must earn a 70 or above on the
story and assessment in order to earn the points. Points can be added to assignments or
banked for later in the year.

STEAM- 10th Grade

Students are studying football culture for 3DE. Therefore, this video will assist with
their understanding of culture. Students will view https://dlrn.us/v5ug9. Students will
write an objective summary.

RED Day Plan:

● Linear Equation Graph Remediation IXL Skills: S.2/S.3/S.7/S.8/S.14

● Enrichment: USA TestPrep System of Equations Performance Task

STEM Lesson Plan: http://www.spark101.org/video/food-waste/

● Create a linear equation to represent the situation

ENV- The Biogeochemical Cycles describe how nutrients flow through the biosphere. These cycles include many
steps, making them hard to remember and easy to mix up. Students will create a rap and rap video for their
chosen cycle.

HAP- There are four major categories of tissues in the body. If we include the variations, the number of actual
tissue types in the body rises to twenty-four. Identifying and locating the tissue types can be challenging; as some
of the shapes and locations are similar. Students will participate in a tissue scavenger hunt using microscopes
and human tissue slides.

STEM-

HAP - Students will learn how technology can reintroduce stem cells. (video/case study)

ENV - Students will investigate how they can use technology/engineering to decrease their carbon footprint.

Individualized RED Day Plan: Students will remediate standards by completing reading assignments and written assessments
on ActivelyLearn.com. Readings (both literary and informational) will be organized and assigned by standards to differentiate
learning. Students will be offered enrichment work on ActivelyLearn.com, as well. For enrichment, students who have
mastered the previously assessed standards will explore upcoming standards with a selection of readings and written
assessments from which they may choose.

STEM Activity: Various DefindedSTEM Videos will be used as either a Do Now or Lesson Hook.

Culture and how it is represented: https://dlrn.us/6kv7n

Needs of an Audience when Designing a Product: https://dlrn.us/1phj7

Persuasion: https://dlrn.us/gkx24

As a class, we will discuss how the information in the video relates to the specifc standards we are covering. Students will also
write an objective summary of the video.

RAM Day Re-teach: Using previous data TW assemble students in groups based on students’ level of need
for the standard not mastered. Instruction, tools, and/or resources will be delivered.

RAM DAY Enrichment: Using previous data TW develop activities geared to reinforce and provide a
platform for scaffolding to the next achievement level.

STEM: After researching informational texts and background materials explaining the needs and
environmental considerations of animals living in zoos, students will write a position paper that argues their
position, pro or con, on whether or not animals can be physically and emotionally stable while living in a zoo.
Students will assemble in groups of 4 to share their position and support the discussion with evidence from
research. Supports Standard: BMA-BC 1 - Demonstrate employability skills required by business and
industry. 1.1 Communicate effectively through writing, speaking, listening, reading and interpersonal
abilities.

RED/RAM Days: Students who are a part of internship and consultancy do not have
a standard to remediate. Students are practicing life skills throughout the senior
experience. Work is independently completed and the RED/RAM day is ongoing
(treated like an online course)

STEM Activity: Second semester teachers will incorporate technology and create
cross curricular opportunities for students to be able to apply lessons in the senior
experience. Lessons are tailor-made to the specific projects provided by the
companies.
