events, referring them for particu-
lars, to the subjoined extract from

paper, of the 9th l\iarch last, which
has just come to our hands by this
opportunity.

Tenemos la satisfacion de decir al Publico
que ha llegado aqui la Fragata de Guerra de
S. .M. B. THISBE en el qual vinó el General
WHIT'ELOCKE, que ha de ser Comandante
y General en Xefe de las Fuerzas de S. B. M.
en la America del Sur. Navíos de Linea y Bar-
cos llenos de todas clases dé tropas han de se-
guir en muy eorto tiempo, el general los habiendo
dexado en el mar. Una compañia de artilleria
se desembarco esta tatde del THISBE.

La Estrella del Sur aparece hoy muy inPspera~
demente, á causa de las noticias que se han reci-
bido de las victorias brillantes de los Ruscianos, y la
derrota . entera del enemigo general. Felicitamos a
nuestros lectores de este suceso. No hay lugar ahora
para decir mas, las circunstancias particulares cstan
contenidas en el extracto de la gazeta de Portsmoutl1,
que se nos ha puesto en manos y que se a1íade ahura;

Bonanarte, since his invasion of
Poland, has lost upwards of one

" Great rejoicings have taken
place at Petersburg·, and the city
was illuminated at the departurc of
the messenger.

entre el 1 y 12 de Febrero.
El Señor Vilck que traxo estas noticias fe-
ices salió de Pctarsburg el 18 de Febrero y
de Gottenburg el 1 del corriente abordo del
navío de posta Amity, que se hubó despach-
ado para traerle. Segun loque dice dicho
cabalero, el general Benningsen acabó de
anunciar a su corte, que hubó vencido a Bo-
naparte en muchas victorias diferentes.
Han perdido los Franceses mas de VIEN-
TE ·MIL HOMBRES, LA MAYOR PAR-
TE DE su ARTILLERIA, y 12 ESTAN·
DAR TES.
Antes de salir el señor Vlick, seis de estos
estandartes se desplegaban en la plaza de
Petersburg.
Un general Frances ha abandonado a Bo-
naparte en sus desgracias y ha llegado en
Petersburg.
Dice el general y haytambien otras pruebas
que apoyan su relacion, que desde la entra-
da de Bonaparte en el reyno de Poloña ha
perdido mas de 100,000 hombres.
El v.iento que era contrario detuvo al señor
Vlick dos días en Gottcnburg.
La nota que sigue estaba circulandose en
la corte inmediatamente despues de llegar el
seíior Vlick.

burg esta rnaííana que traxo despachos los
quales contienen todas las ciréunstan~ias to-
cante las operaciones de las fuerzas Rusianas
en Prusia. Pues parece que el general Ru-
siano ha recibido lo que merece su valor y
intrepidez. Ataco el exercito- Frances, y la
batalla continuaba algunos días sin intermi•
sion. Tenia siempre la ventaja y al cabo
derroto enteramente las Fuerzas Francesas.
Han perdido los Franceses mas de 20,000
HOMBRES 12 Aguilas (Estandartes) y mu..o
chas piezas de cañon."
Regocijos muy grandes se hacian en Pe-
térsburg y la ciudad estaba iluminada quando
salío el correo.
