As the official day of Thanksgiving
approaches, I cannot help celebra�ng
early, as I think of you, and your
enthusias�c support of ADNE’s
mission - Reaching New England with
the transforming love of Jesus Christ.
It is so exci�ng to see what God is
doing globally, as He cares for the sick,
the poor, and the lost. At Lausanne -
Cape Town 2010, the third conference
on world evangelism, the agenda
focused on confron�ng cri�cal issues
of our �me, the future of the Church
and world evangeliza�on.
But the depth and promise of
rela�onships begun at Cape Town
became the subtext. There is so
much to share with you about Cape
Town 2010, we will have more on the
website this month.

At Lausanne over 4000 met for
worship, bible study and prayer,
learning and sharing together, then
more informally, over meals and
discussion groups. The material
presented each day was excellent in
every way, but beyond the content of
great Bible teaching, there were the
people encounters. What an amazing
experience!
At my table, Pakistan, Nepal, USA,
India and Germany were represented.

geography. It is a gi� so rare this side of
heaven, this face to face dialogue with
those who have friends and family
martyred for the faith. Those who
live daily with the threat of physical
harm, cultural persecu�on, and
psychological pressure do it all for the
gospel of Christ. It is a very humbling
and challenging experience.

Port Elizabeth
As soon as Lausanne concluded with
a rousing service, it was on to Port
Elizabeth, South Africa along with
Bishop Guernsey this week, joining Os
Guinness and others for a preaching
conference.

And now remind me...what is a synod?

But, for our purposes, it’s the ADNE’s annual business mee�ng held Saturday,
November 20th. Licensed parish clergy a�end along with elected parish
delegates to deal with all things ADNE.
Agenda items include
 considera�on and vote on the ADNE budget for 2011
 elec�ons to diocesan commi�ees, including the Ecclesias�cal Court,
the Standing Commi�ee, and representa�ves to the Provincial Council
 considera�on and vote on resolu�ons and amendments to the
cons�tu�on and canons
 reports from parishes and commi�ees
 pastoral address from Bishop Bill
 Holy Eucharist
In next month’s Bishop’s Bulle�n, we’ll have a report on the Synod, plus we’ll
