Develop Craft

I developed my value technique in my oil pastel

landscapes. I focused on making the colors of
the water distinct, while blended at the same
time. I was very careful when I was blending
different colors because I wanted to make sure
the color was correct and similar to that of the
original landscape.
Engage and Persist

What helped me stay focused while working on

my black out poetry was knowing that the final
drawing would be meaningful. This was the
same with my artist acrylic drawing. I was
focused on what the final drawing would be and
how it would represent the artist.
Envision

My plan for my acrylic painting was to focus on

having different colors that are not mixed and
the edges needed to be sharp. I imagined that it
would look similar to the cutout, with
contrasting colors. In the beginning, I wasn’t
sure that it looked good enough, but after
multiple coats of paint, it began to look like the
cutout. I made sure the shapes were different
and mainly freeform.
Express

My work demonstrates my feelings by showing

my hardwork and dedication. One thing that
that is unique about my acrylic painting is that
it shows how there are different perspectives
and outlooks on different things. For example,
my tree shows light and dark.
Observe

I never noticed before that I am decent at

drawing trees. In my practice landscape for oil
pastel, my tree shows many different textures
and colors. Another nice detail in a different
piece of art (pot) was the two braids that I added.
I think it adds height and texture.
Reflect

As I reflect on my work, I think about how much

texture can change a piece of work. I tried to
create different textures in my oil pastels, and I
think it added different allusions. One thing I
would have done differently is added a bit more
definition to my mountains.
Stretch & Explore

I tried something new when I added value to my

still life. I have never focused on the value I am
using, but I think it made a big difference.
Something that surprised me was that the
shadows added a lot of definition.
Understanding Art World

I was influenced by exploring the art of Romero Britto. His artwork is unique and
uses different styles and techniques.
