Nitoflor FC110
A clear polyurethane floor coating and sealer
Uses
To provide a clear sealing coat on cementitious floors and a
dust-proof and more easily cleaned surface with resistance to
the penetration of oils and liquids. Ideal for warehousing,
garages and light industrial buildings.

Description
Nitoflor FC110 single component, moisture curing
polyurethane coating shows excellent adhesion to concrete
and, when cured, forms a clear, semi-gloss flexible film.
It is supplied in a single pack ready for use direct from the
can. Two coats are recommended.

Design criteria
Nitoflor FC110 is designed for application in two coats to
achieve an approximate total dry film thickness of 100
microns. Substrates should have a relative humidity not
greater than 80% at the time of installation.
Properties
The values given above right have been achieved in
laboratory tests. Actual values attained on site may show
minor variations from those quoted.

Chemical properties
Nitoflor FC110 is resistant to a range of chemicals. Specific
data is available on request.
Maintenance
The service life of a floor can be considerable extended by
good housekeeping practices. Regular cleaning of Nitoflor
FC110 may be carried out using a rotary scrubbing machine
with a water miscible cleaning agent, or by hot water
o
washing at temperatures up to 50 C.
Specification clauses
The floor sealer shall be Nitoflor FC110, a single
component, clear polyurethane coating for application by
brush. The coating shall be applied in a minimum of two

coats at a coverage rate not greater than 9 m /litre per coat.
Application instructions
Surface preparation
It is essential that Nitoflor FC110 is applied to sound, clean
dry substrates in order to achieve maximum adhesion
between the floor coating and substrate.
Because Nitoflor FC110 is a relatively thin coating, the
substrate must be fine textured. Any surface irregularities
will show through causing excessive wear on high sports.
New concrete floors
Unless water-reduced, the floor should be at least 28 days
old. Dry removal of laitance by light grit-blasting is
preferable but, where this is not feasible, treat with an acid
wash, followed by thorough rising with water and complete
drying. Dust and other debris should then be removed by
vacuum brush.
Old concrete floors
A sound, clean substrate is essential to achieve maximum
adhesion. Light grit blasting or acid etching should be
carried out as for new concrete floors. Oil and grease
penetration should be removed with a chemical degreaser.
Coating
The contents of the can should be poured into a plastic tray
or similar and applied on to the surface using a soft brush.
A continuous coating of uniform thickness should be
achieved. A minimum of two coats are recommended
allowing at least 1 to 2 hours drying time between coats.
Nitoflor FC110
On sand/cement screeds, 3 or 4 coats may be required
depending on porosity. Where two or more coats are
applied, best results are obtained by not allowing more than
24 hours between applications.
Cleaning
Nitoflor FC110 should be removed from tools and
equipment using Fosroc Solvent 101 immediately after use.
Limitations
Precautions
Health and safety
Nitoflor FC110 and Fosroc Solvent 102 should not come in
contact with skin and eyes, or be swallowed. Avoid
inhalation of vapour/spray. Use only in well ventilated
areas. If working in confined areas, suitable respirator
protective equipment must be worn. Wear suitable
protective clothing, gloves and eye/face protection. Barrier
creams provide additional skin protection.

The durability of Nitoflor FC110 is reduced in areas of very
heavy foot traffic such as around workbenches, drinks
machines, doorways etc. It is advisable to either:
a) Specify additional coats in such areas or
b) Specify a higher build system such as Nitoflor FC150 in
such areas (see relevant data sheet).
Should accidental skin contact occur, remove with a suitable
skin cleanser, followed b washing with soap and water. In
case of contact wit eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of
water and seek medical advice. If swallowed seek medical
attention immediately - do not induce vomiting.
Fire

Nitoflor FC110 and Fosroc Solvent 101 are flammable.

Estimating Store in accordance with national and local fire prevention
regulations. Keep away from sources of ignition. No
Supply smoking. In the event of fire, extinguish with CO 2 or foam.
Do not use a water jet.

All products have a shelf life of 6 months if kept in a dry sore
in the original unopened packs.

Storage conditions

Store in dry conditions between 10 C and 30 C, away from
sources of heat and naked flames, in the original unopened
packs. If stored at high temperatures the shelf life will be
reduced. Nitoflor FC110 should be protected from frost.
