Skills & Motivation in Starting A Business: Online shop

“There is a magic thing about people who have guts to try to start their own business”

- Chuck Rovenstine (Williams, 1997)

A business is something to be proud of, it is never easy to start because it must take a lot
of guts to actually achieve success in that industry. Anyone in the world now must
probably wondering how to make a lot of money that quick and possible. And yes that is
very possible in any business type. Many are wondering how to get in, how to begin, and
how to continue. Anyone wants to be rich or very wealthy that money can no longer be a
problem, and starting a business is one of the key to make it. But wait, business is not a
very easy industry to get in to, it must take a lot of courage. Since, technology is taking
the industry a storm, online shops are a mainstream this season. But what really is the
best way to start? where does an individual find to get in the motivation to begin and/ or
to continue this battle in the world of the business industry? Can anyone get in just simply
because they want to? or does it include a lot of traits and courage to achieve? Let me
start sharing my actual experience in this field. I manage to create my business adventure
this year with my partner and i tell you this is quite a challenge. There is a lot of struggle
to face and everything is a sacrifice or else nothing is going to work out. My reason for
starting a business is mainly the reason to help my partner financially and of course as a
woman my self maintenance. I realize’ that i can’t always ask for money from my parents,
my weekly allowance is enough for them to cover my food and transportation expenses
and the rest should be shouldered by myself. As an independent woman i needed to learn
more and depend on myself as i grow older. For now, my real motivation for this business
is actually the struggle of my partner financially which is keeping me more eager to face
this challenge. I always give myself the confidence and courage to push through because
i don't want him to give up on life just because they are struggling. Yes i can say that we
are both young but having a goal, a mission and a vision to achieve something is a way
to success. So no i am not backing down on this no matter how hard or difficult the
situation might get me and him. Since i’m a third year irregular in San Beda it’s even more
challenging for me to continue due to a hassle schedule and adding up my sideline.
Starting is very challenging and joking is never an option. Every move counts, every bit
of the time and everything matters for sure. Did i mention that I'm opening an online shop?
i guess just now. Yes, an online shop that is too mainstream and maybe quite impossible
to get millions of consumers and viewers on this one but hey anything is possible and
everyone starts small before actually getting bigger. We must have the best quality
products, unique products to get the attention of our chosen market. For that reason i
myself have chosen the people in my age but maybe possible to anyone who loves cute
bags and pouches. You heard it right! we’re selling unique pouches in my own idea of
designs and bags for my future plans, in it’s best quality of course. I see my designs as
me for example is the consumer; would i consider buying it myself to get everyone jealous
that i have this kind? definitely an eye pleaser. It must looks expensive, but the secret is
it’s very affordable that any type of fashionista can buy. We’ll i can say ideas of designs
are a challenge because it comes to me like a serious tsunami. I can’t decide that
precisely, and another problem is the materials quality products are mostly at much cost
but well the aim to create an affordable one is a must for our business so my chosen
makers are from Marikina owned by my colleagues parents, they are still finding specific
materials that i want for my pouches and one update is telling me that it has to be made
in China that would give me much more cost, so i have to improvise and get another
alternatives. At this part in my journey it’s quite depressing, it’s definitely stressing me out
because it looks impossible to push through with a limited fund and the idea of getting
those consumers buying your products is indeed a dream. But I'm never loosing hope on
this one because this is a dream, a goal and a must. Where do i simply get this courage
from? Well, in a consumer perspective i’m getting all the motivation i want just to get this
done and moving. I read articles, blogs and i seriously stalk online shops in observance
of their strategy to get the attention of my kind of consumers. Through my observance;
online shops are doing everything just to get our attention. I’m not even hoping for a big
company that quick but hey that is definitely a dream for me and my partner. Who knew
maybe in this business i could be rich. Well that is one of my future plans partly. As i
observe myself, i’m pushing it all to my limits the confidence i never even knew i have.
The strength, my weakness, my emotions, everything all together is definitely a ride of
my life. I also manage to read articles from bloggers who most likely have millions of
followers. I did learn a lot, simply loving them too as any readers do. Since, i have chosen
this topic i would like to share my research on this one. On an article by Sandra K. Williams
anything is definitely a motivation. She shares stories and a lot encouragements to
actually let you go on in your business journey. She ought to quote that willingness to
work as hard as necessary to make their businesses grow is a primary ingredient of the
entrepreneurial spirit. She is definitely right on this one, a person would not likely to
succeed without a willingness to something right? unless you are lucky enough to win a
lottery that solves up everything on your expense list. Every hard work brings good things
to anyone, legally in a good way at least. She told in her article that a really successful
business simply shows a great service to it’s consumer, in my perspective a great service
would actually be conducted especially if the love for business is there. I mean if you
really wanted this in the first place the idea of making this business going continuously is
simply by enjoying, loving and making things better for the customers. She also
mentioned the idea of having the courage to act on their dreams is one trademark of the
entrepreneur. I enrolled as an operational management major here in our school and
never could have imagine in my life that i would actually be a young entrepreneur on my
own. Well life is not ending early as now and i’m not making this slip on my hands, no
matter what i finish studying in this life i have. i would still be aiming to be this entrepreneur
- a successful business owner. Simply everyone will be talking about me as that “Hey she
owns that line that creates special designs that no one can resist of having” yes, that
would be my brand. I own it! it is a dream of wanting to put the whole world in their
shoulders (Williams, 1997). To a lot of young entrepreneurs out there here are some tips
that i would gladly want to share with you guys in starting your own business. Simply first
is “believing in yourself” this is me saying this too early at my stage of starting my own
business but there is not a problem about the idea of actually just believing in yourself
that you can do it. Where else will you get that motivation to do something if you don’t
believe in yourself. This is where a person begins, with this in mind no matter what comes
ahead the faith within you will always be willing to pursue that challenge just to get in that
goal. Rise up and fulfil that confidence in serving that consumers. The next one is
“Believing in the value of what you have to offer” it is very hard to actually imagine the
idea of not believing in your chosen product, how do you even get yourself motivated if
you don’t believe to love in sharing the world the product you have to offer. Third is “Be
knowledgeable about your line of work” in starting a business this is a must of knowing
everything there is to know about the business your getting in to. You can’t just simply
run into that certain industry by not knowing a thing. Everything there is to know must be
learned and experiencing it is far more better. Another is a must to “Conquer your inner
critic and win” it’s either positive or negative and as an entrepreneur it is a must to fight
for that negativity and win your faith on achieving this successful business of yours. And
with that “Prepare thoroughly” a business must have a strategy in operation. Taking care
of everything in and out of the field, it’s not a battle of just going to fight, there is a lot of
competitors in the market and a strategy is always a must in taking care of the business.
For that always remember to “Be yourself” pressure is always about to hunt you to be
someone else. No! it’s definitely a NO NO NO! being yourself is the number one key in
also being the business you’ve been working hard for so long. Doing everything uniquely
is simply running it with your own sense of style. Lastly, “Stay away from negative people”
they would not do you any good. They would generally sabotaged everything there is to
love in your business or simply make them as your motivation to be better. Business is
not an easy way in but through hard work nothing is ever impossible.
