Section 1: Rationale (Approx 100 words)

This section provides you with an opportunity to reflect on, review and summarise your progress and
achievements through the first 7 units of the qualification. You should outline the knowledge, skills and
understanding you have acquired.
What you know now, and what it means to you, compared with what you knew and could do before you
started the course, and how this has influenced your choice of pathway and your project proposal.
Through the 7 units I have Improved my filming skills such as camera angles and camera
techniques, as well as this I have learned how to properly edit and develop footage and audio in
unit 1 I learned to do shadow animation and how to animate, after that I went onto clay fighter.
During clay fighter I made models and learned how to do basic editing, the next stage was
learning to edit properly. As well as this I also made a game that required using a pixel art
website to design the parts of the game (characters, background, collectables, objectives and
walls)

Section 2: Project Concept (approx 200 words)

My idea is a film involving a hostage/terrorist situation where the protagonist has to

rescue a hostage or diffuse a bomb. The protagonist is normally a large male with a
tragic backstory who is trying to save an important figure, a love interest, a family
member or a close friend or even the world or country. The protagonist always faces
an antagonist who is quite often a mirror image of the protagonist in terms of prowess’s
and/ or backstory. Quite often the antagonist has a team of lackeys or disposable
troops to take out the protagonist who stereotypically have bad aim and are easily
defeated. The hostage will be a female (the protagonists love interest) who was taken
by the terrorist/ antagonist as bait to kill the protagonist/ hero and if he cannot kill the
hero, he will kill the love interest. The protagonist will have a gunfight with the
antagonists hired mercenary’s/ terrorist troops to get to the antagonist. A fist fight will
break out during the antagonist and protagonist where the protagonist is losing until
the hostage distracts the antagonist so the protagonist can kill him.

Section 3: Evaluation Methods (approx 50 words)

that you intend to use. Your sources of research should be as wide as possible, including, but not limited
to: libraries, museums and galleries, books, theatre/film/ video, magazines, TV/radio programmes,

The bibliography should be continuously updated as the project progresses.

Project Proposal – Unit 08

Project Action Plan and Timetable

This section provides you with an opportunity to outline your planning and organisation over a period of weeks, and the
activities you will need to carry out in order to successful complete your project within the agreed time frame. It is
important that you consider how you will balance ambition, time and realism in the realisation of the project.
This should include what you are going to do, how you will do it and by when. The more time and thought you give to
planning your project, the more successful it is likely to be. Remember to include: time spent sourcing materials,
questionnaires, access to workshops, tutorial and peer group feedback, and where you will incorporate independent
study
