Known for his strong work ethic and
result oriented vision has over the
past 25 years led the VME group.
VME Group was founded. One of the pioneers in mechanization of earthwork using
1986
excavators and other sophisticated equipment.
Ventured into building bridges for the Tamil Nadu State Highways based on Precast
1992 Technology. Won an accolade from World Bank team for quality and also speedy
execution for the very first bridge.
A bow string girder bridge at Katpadi for Southern Railways which won a National
Award by the Indian Institute of Bridge Engineers. This bridge was completed in 1998
1998 where the entire span of 42 meters weighing 750 tons was cast separately and
placed in position. Setup its own Ready mix concrete unit.
Set up India’s First Completely Automated Precast Factory along with global

associates VaBe and Elematic of Finland.
Diversified into Real Estate domain with VME Realty.
2010 Launched it First Project – Lakeside in August 2010 .
The entire construction will be done using Precast Technology.

Transportation of
Hollow Core Slabs
2.5Mt 2.5Mt
265 mm thick Hollow Core Slab of 8m length is being tested by placing two blocks weighing
2.5Mt each. The slab was designed for 500kg/Sqm but the loading was 5 times more than
the design load acting like a point load and the slab did not fail.

CORE SLABS
• Longer span and greater loads than conventional slabs of same
depth.
• Longer span, meaning less beams and columns required which gives
more unobstructed space and saving for the client.
• Gives better heat insulation and also can be used for insulation by
filling cool ambient air in the holes of HCS which reduces air-
conditioning requirement of a building by 30%.
• Does not require any scaffolding at site and erection can be done in
all weather condition.

BEAMS
• Using Precast beams and columns will save considerable cost and
time as time-consuming shuttering and scaffolding are avoided.
• Precast columns and beams are fast to install, and does not require
any storage space on site, as the units are generally erected directly
from the trailer into its final position.
• Electrical conduits and boxes are placed into the panels in the factory.
Quality Control
In VME, the Precast Elements are produced in a controlled environment in a state-of-the-art plant. Hence the highest
levels of quality control can be maintained as opposed to on-site pouring of concrete
Strength
Precast elements casted in the factory are of higher grade concrete mix proportions as compared to the conventional
way of on-site construction.
Weather Dependency
Precast concrete elements are cured in the plant itself which cuts down the time required for curing and at the same
time ensures proper effective curing. Dependency on the weather is also avoided as changes in the weather will not
delay production or affect the erection schedule.
Weather Resistance
Unlike other precast materials that can rust, rot or degrade in the presence of moisture, precast concrete actually gets
stronger if the un-hydrated cement particles in it react with water, thus making it completely water-resistant.
Durability
Using precast concrete elements improves construction quality and thus extends the life cycle of buildings.
Insulation
Precast Sandwich panels have an insulated membrane between two concrete layers which reduces huge heat
transmission thus saving energy to a large extent.
Water Tightness
When precast concrete products are produced in a quality-controlled environment and used with high-quality sealants,
it makes the finished product completely water-proof.
Efficiency
Precast technology saves up to 50% of construction time.
Environment friendly
Precast technology contributes to best green building practice in a number of ways. Buildings made with precast sandwich
panels can achieve anywhere between 30 to 40% savings in energy. Apart from this, less community disturbance also takes
place as less dust, noise and waste are created at the construction site .
Low Maintenance
Precast concrete produces products of the highest quality, where stringent quality control measures are adopted so the
usual post construction problems like leakage or cracks can be avoided.
Seismic
Buildings made with precast concrete elements have also got better resistance to seismic
conditions.
Aesthetics
Precast concrete products can be given distinctive facades like marble, granite and brickwork.

• Duration - 45days.
• Highlight - In the original design rise and tread were designed as separate
elements, to reduce the number of joints and to speed up the erection
process alternate design was suggested by us to make two rise and tread
together as one piece. Our design was accepted and we supplied the
gallery steps within a short duration of 45days and the same was erected
within the stipulated time before the world cup match.
