G'day again folks and hasn't it been a good week as usual in Bali with the
exception of a few heavy rains, which as usual start directly after I get on my
bike to go somewhere. It's clear the wet season is upon us yet again and the
belting rains will keep on coming. Wouldn't it be good if it only rained at night
while we all slept? With the onset of the rain come the standard Christmas
rush of tourists invading the peaceful island retreat we all call home and the
games begin. Most stalls or sellers will be stocking up ready for the influx of

unsuspecting tourists looking for that bargain basement low low price on a

love to watch as a newbie from another part of the world gives their all while tackling the plethora of market stalls
and basically pays too much for whatever they buy. It takes a seasoned visitor to ensure you get a good deal, and
even then your copping it. So long as you're happy with the price you get and just as happy with the deal, it's all good.
I remember coming here about 20 years ago as a tourist, and started the bargaining thing with one stall only to
realize they were shouting the price out to the next stall so that everyone was charging or going to charge me the
same price. There was no use in going a few stalls up the way to get a better price as the whole lot of them knew the
quoted price before I even got close to their stall. Fun times. The dollar was a different beast back then and rarely did
you see a 100k note, I think the best I got one trip was 1430 rupiah for my Aussie dollar, so not a lot. My how things
have changed, just look at the topic of the day being the Aussie dollar versus the American, I think it has bounced off

tour, months before he was secretly
filmed in a News of the World sting
counting piles of cash he received for
allegedly manipulating an England-
Pakistan Test.
But the ICC claims it was not

investigation by Scotland Yard after
he told an undercover journalist in
August that he could arrange for no
balls to be bowled at specific points
in a match, which could then be bet
on.
