Complete Piping Fabrication, Pressure and NDT testing, Cleaning and Painting

CONTRACTOR shall fabricate piping spools in accordance with the attached


piping isometric drawings. Piping shall be 100% prefabricated, there shall be no
field welds.
CLIENT shall free issue the pipe, fittings and flanges to the CONTRACTOR
CONTRACTOR to supply remaining materials to complete the work
(consumables, hydro test materials - plugs, gaskets, stud bolts etc)
Pressure testing by water shall be conducted for all spools.
NDT examination shall be conducted for a percentage of spools
 Visual Inspection – 100%
 Radiography – 10%, as per specification
 Liquid Penetrant – 10% of all fillet welds, plus one weld from each heat
Piping spools shall be cleaned by acid cleaning process before sealing the spools
for transport.
Spools shall undergo surface preparation before painting. Spools shall be free
from dirt, dust or grease before painting.

Pipe Support Material Supply, Fabrication, Testing and Cleaning and Painting
CONTRACTOR shall supply the pipe support materials based on the
requirements from the attached piping support drawings.
CONTRACTOR shall fabricate the pipe supports in accordance with the attached
specification (AFE361318-ENG-PIP-SPC-0001-R0)
Pipe supports shall be supplied with loose shimming plates for shimming on site.
Pipe supports shall be attached to existing structures by bolting.

1. Brief Description of Project


The Fuel Gas Tree Project is being implemented to improve control and stabilize
the fuel gas supply pressures to the CAT engine generators on the Khormor
Plant, Kurdistan, Iraq.
This involves the replacement of the existing fuel supply lines to each generator
to include a larger fuel filter housing and additional instrumentation and valves.
2. Scope of work for Prefab Contractor
The main scope of work for the CONTRACTOR is as follows:

Fabrication of 1 x Dummy Spools to substitute fuel filter equipment during trial fit-up
Fuel filter equipment shall not be available during final inspection. CONTRACTOR
to fabricate a dummy spool to use during the trial fit-up.
CONTRACTOR to supply materials according to the isometrics and support of the
dummy spool.
Dummy spool shall be issued to site along with the prefabricated piping spools.

Fabrication of 4 x Dummy Spools to substitute valves during trial fit-up


Control valves shall not be available during the trial fit-up. CONTRACTOR to
fabricate 4 x dummy spools to use during the trial fit-up.
Temporary spools shall be used during trial fit-up at CONTRACTORS yard.
Dummy spool shall be issued to site along with the prefabricated piping spools.

Trial Assembly of all spool and supports for dimensional verification


As part of the final inspection, a trial fit-up and thorough dimensional verification
shall be conducted by the CONTRACTOR with the assistance of a qualified
surveyor and witnessed by the CLIENT as part of the acceptance criteria.
Temporary supports shall be used during the trial fit-up.
CONTRACTOR shall not use chain blocks / lifting hooks to support the piping to
avoid damage to the finished paintwork

Packing for transport to protect against damage to paintwork.


CONTRACTOR shall be responsible for the proper packing of the finished spools
and pipe supports for transport to site.
CONTRACTOR shall be responsible for any damages caused due to improper
packing.
Pipe ends, flanges, threaded ends (male and female) shall be adequately
covered to protect against ingress of material after cleaning and transport.

The associated requirements (ie QAQC, Fabrication requirements and documentation


etc) to complete this scope of work are described in more detail in the attached
specification.
