Statement of Purpose

Why do you wish to pursue PhD?

I want lifelong career in academia with strong hand on a specific field in which I want to do research and can
add can add even delta X in that specific field. PHD will act as a catalyst for me for that and simultaneously I
will also learn new and challenging things, PhD will not only cemented my theoretical concepts but also
encourage me to attempt practical practices with full guts and confidence

What is your motivation for applying to IIT Gandhinagar?

I am very keen to do work in field of energy and IIT Gandhinagar is one of the premier institute in India
which is working in the advancement of energy which motivate me to have a doctoral degree from IITG.

What are your long term career objectives?

It’s being my childhood dream to become a teacher so I choose teaching as my career and I want to
continue with this profession in my entire life.

What is the area of your research interest and why?

Energy is my area of interest specifically if I say its analysis on bio-diesel. My project in M.Tech program is
on “EXPERIMENTAL INVESTIGATION ON OXIDATION STABILITY, ENGINEPERFORMANCE AND
EMISSION OF NEXT GENERATION BIODIESEL”. In that project I have developed different types of bio-
diesels and I have test all the developed bio diesels and engine performance and emissions and study of
oxidation stability parameters. After doing successful engine performance of bio-diesels, I have taken 3
samples for characterization for oxidation stability and long sustainability. I have improved the oxidation
stability by adding anti-oxidants as an additives and also done oxidation stability index through Ranciment
test as per ASTM standards.so I want to take my work to higher possible level.
