This document is the formal proposal for the services you and I have discussed over
email. You’ll find a bit of background on our group as well as a more detailed explanation of the
show we have scheduled.

BACKGROUND

Just Add Water is Yale’s premier musical improv comedy group. It has been a Yale
institution for over 30 years. Just Add Water has done workshops and performances at hundreds
of schools across the country, and JAW alumni have gone on to become television actors, writers
for The Daily Show and Full Frontal with Samantha Bee, and even the Chairman of President
Obama's Council of Economic Advisors.
In addition to performing at shows and clubs (including the famous Second City in
Chicago), it is part of JAW’s mission to work with as many schools and students as possible.
Improv is particularly relevant to school-aged children – beyond being an inherently joyful
experience, the principles of improv translate beautifully to a learning environment as improv
encourages students to engage with ideas, think creatively and take risks.

PROPOSAL
We plan to perform one show and conduct a workshop for Center School drama students
from 9:00 am to 10:30 am on March 22nd, 2019. This show will include several short-form
games/scenes, both non-musical and musical, and close with a short Broadway-style improvised
musical. The workshop will include exercises with saying “yes” and spatial reality, games we
ourselves play in shows, and maybe even musical games. We will arrive ~30 minutes early to set
up and warm up.

PRICING

Ms. Lackey and Just Add Water have agreed on a price of $200.00 for one show and one
workshop.
