Opening Remarks
• The Bible is filled with characters who are
models of leadership Moses, Joseph, David,
Solomon, Deborah, Nehemiah, Esther, Jesus, Paul
etc.
• There are common leadership characteristics
associated with these individuals.
• They are perfect description of what leadership
is all about, any where and any time.

Biblical Framework
Thus saith the LORD, Stand ye in the ways, and
see, and ask for the old paths, where is the
good way, and walk therein, and ye shall find
rest for your souls. But they said, We will not
walk therein.
Jeremiah 6:16

Who is a Model of leadership?
• He/she is a known leader.
• A great leader with a verifiable vision on
purpose.
• One with fruits of leadership.
• One who has followers.
• One who possesses the indispensable
qualities of a leader.

• Became a prince of Egypt.
• He ran away for his life.
• He returned as the divine
messenger.
• He led his people from slavery to
freedom.
• He received the Ten
Commandments.

cousin, Mordecai.
• Chosen by king Ahasuerus to
replace Vasthi as queen.
• Became an instrument in the
deliverance of her people.
• Still being remembered today by
jews through an annual feast, the
feast of Purim.

 They empowered others to take over from them.

Common Features of Biblical Leaders
Vision: Each of them could be clearly identified
by something spectacular that they did.

It must be understood that vision is the basis for


leadership. Without it all other qualities are useless
to leadership.

Vision must have the people in mind if it is to be


separated from ambition.

• Leadership is learnable.
• You have the seed of leadership inside of
you.
