NOTIFICATION
New Delhi, the 8th March, 1995
G.S.R. 120 (E) :—In exercise of the powers conferred by
Section 12 of the Government Savings Certificates Act, 1959
(46 of 1959), the Central Government hereby makes the
following rules further to amend the National Savings Certi-
ficates (VIII Issue) Rules, 1989, namely : —
1. (1) These rules may be called the National Savings
Certificates (VIII Issue) (Amcndmenl) Rules, 1995.
(2) They shall come into force on the 1st day of April,
1995.

2. In the National Savings Certificates (VIII Issue) Rules,

1989,—
(a) in rule|2, under the heading "Definitions", ihe clauses
(ii), (v) and (vii) shall be deleted.
(b) In rule 4, under the heading "Types of Certificates
and issue thereof", for clause (a) of sub rule (2), the
following shall be substituted, namely :—
"(a) A single Holder Type Certificate may be
issued to :—•
(i) an adult for himself or on behalf of a minor
or to a minor,
(ii) a trust."
