Event Synopsis
Scene Description:
We received a disturbance call from a chemistry lab located in 210, Nakhon Nayok road at 10:58
in the morning. The call reported us a crime was happened in the lab but without further information was
given about the crime. We dispatched our team for investigation and arrived at the scene in 11:00 in the
morning. We discovered a man around working age was lied down with his chair on the floor. There was
a surgical blade on his throat and puddle of blood near his body. We also noticed another puddle of blood,
a bottle of white pills, a journal written in blue pen with a pen on it, and a tray filled surgical blades and
scissors on the lab desk.
Interview Conducted:
Name: Bill, Lab Manager
“ I had a meeting here in the Lab at 11 o’clock, but before that I heard a loud bang, maybe around a half
past ten, not much sure, but maybe around that, which might be from the scene. At that time, I think there
o, when it was nearly 11 o’clock, I walked to the
is nothing because I think that I might hearing things. S
lab in order to have a meeting, I saw a dead body in the lab and no one had seen and touched the scene
yet.”
Evidence Collected:
Item Description: Fingerprint (Left)
Log Number: FP001
Details: The FP001 is one of the two obvious fingerprints on the table near the victim. It is located on the
left of another near the two scissors and a tray while the tip of the fingerprint directly faces to the tray.
The fingerprint itself has a Ulnar loop patterns.
1) We took photos around the crime scene as evidences before entering for further investigation.
2) We screened around the scene for more evidences in which we found;
a) A journal, presumably written by the victim.
b) Blood puddles on the table and near the victim’s body.
c) Weapon that cause the victim’s death, a surgical blade.
d) A jar of pills labeled “Percocet.”
e) A tray with surgical blades and scissors
3) We conducted an interview on the witness, Bill about the crime scene
4) We collected some blood samples from the puddles for DNA blood test.
5) We spread charcoals on the lab table for finding fingerprints, in which we will use to determine
the owner of those prints.
6) We took the pill from a jar to identify their origins
7) We took the victim’s DNA for estimate the time of death.
8) We collected all evidences and test results and finalized the investigation.
Test Results
Test: Fingerprint
We collected and traced the fingerprint in the crime scene. We observed the two fingerprints that we got,
and the result turned out that the two are the same where both of the two fingerprints, FP001 and FP002,
have the same figure of Ulnar loop.
Investigation Results
In conclusion, we would like to say that this is a murder scene. By looking at the evidences
available, we could see that there are a bottle of Percocet, a cup of coffee with coffee (normal, not decaf)
and a journal of the victim written about his boss. According to the fact that percocet (opium based) has a
side effect that weaken the body and make the person who consumed the medicine tried, the victim get
tried and therefore have no energy to fight back against the murderer. A cup of coffee strengthen our
assumption because caffeine makes the body absorb the chemical quicker. Another evidence is the journal
that the victim had left. Inside the journal, victim had wrote about his boss that he/she is very terrible for
him and that he thought that his boss wanted to kill him. We also spotted a flaw between the interview
and the information we have gathered. In the journal, the victim wrote, “I humiliated them in today’s
meeting. I don’t.” By looking at this, we can interpret that the meeting had already occurred, however, the
interview from Mr.Bill said that he is having the meeting at 11:00 am. The time of death of the victim is
also not match with the interview. The body is already dead for about 3.5 hours ago, but Mr. Bill reported
to the police at 10:58. So, we suspected that Mr.Bill might be the murderer of the victim in this crime
scene, and we’ll henceforth continue to investigate his intention further.
