Failure (नयापयास हहोणण) is not a single, cataclysmic event (एकल भययानक घटनया नयाहह). We do not fail
overnight (आरहह एकट्यया रयातव अपयश झयालहो नयाहह). Failure is the inevitable result (अपररहयायर्म्यु पररणयाम) of
an accumulation of poor thinking (गरहब ववचयारयारांचया सरांग्रह) and poor choices (खरयाब पययार्म्युय). To put it
more simply(अधधिक सहजपणण ठण वणण), failure is nothing more(अपयशव कयाहहच नयाहह) than a few errors
in judgment repeated every day (ननणर्म्युययामध्यण कयाहह चरकया दररहोज परनरयावत्व तव हहोतण).
Now why would someone make (आतया कहोणवतरह कया बनवणल) an error in judgment (न्ययाययालययात
तरटह) and then be so foolish as to repeat it every day(आणण मग प्रत्यणक ददवस तण परनरयावत्व तव करण्ययासयाठठ
इतकण मख म र्म्यु असम द्यया)? The answer is because he or she does not think that it matters( इसकया उत्तर
यह हह क्ययोंकक वह यह नहहरां सहोचतया कक यह मयायनण रखतया हह ।).
On their own, our daily acts do not seem that important (त्ययारांच्यया स्वत: च्यया, आमच्यया दह नरांददन कवत्यण
तण महत्त्वयाचण ददसत नयाहहत). A minor oversight (ककरकहोळ ननरहक्षण), a poor decision (एक वयाईट ननणर्म्युय), or
a wasted hour (एक वयायया घयालवलणलण तयास) generally doesn’t result in an instant and measurable
impact (तरर रां त और औसत दजर कया प्रभयाव नहहरां हहोतया हह ). More often than not, we escape from any
immediate consequences of our deeds (बययार्म्युचदया, आपण आपल्यया कमयार्मांच्यया तत्कयाळ पररणयामयारांपयासमन पळ कयाढम
शकतहो).
If we have not bothered to read a single book in the past 90 days (गणल्यया 9 0 ददवसयात आरहयालया
एकच परस्तक वयाचण्ययाचव धचरांतया नसणल तर), this lack of discipline does not seem to have any
immediate impact on our lives (हण अनरशयासनयाचव कमतरतया आपल्यया आयरष्ययावर कहोणतवहह तयात्कयाळ प्रभयाव
आढळत नयाहह). And since nothing drastic happened to us after the first ninety days ( आणण
पदहल्यया नऊ ददवसयारांनरांतर आमच्ययाबरहोबर कयाहहहह भयरांकर झयालण नयाहह), we repeat this error in judgment for
another ninety days(आरहह दस र ऱ्यया नऊ ददवसयारांच्यया ददवसयात यया तरटहचव परनरयावत्व तव करतहो), and on and on it
goes. Why? (आणण ययावर आणण ययावर जयातण. कया?) Because it doesn’t seem to matter (कयारण कयाहह फरक
पडत नयाहह). And herein lies the great danger (आणण यणथण महयान धिहोकया आहण ). Far worse than
not reading the books (पस्र तकण वयाचण्ययापणक्षया बरण च वयाईट) is not even realizing that it matters (हण
महत्वयाचण आहण हण दण खवल जयाणत नयाहह)!
The price must be paid for our poor choices (आमच्यया गरहब ननवडवरांसयाठठ ककरां मत अदया करणण
आवश्यक आहण )—choices that didn’t seem to matter(ननवडव वयाटल्यया नयाहहत).
Those who eat too many of the wrong foods are contributing to a future health problem, but
the joy of the moment overshadows the consequence of the future. It does not seem to
matter. Those who smoke too much or drink too much go on making these poor choices
year after year after year… because it doesn’t seem to matter. But the pain and regret of
these errors in judgment have only been delayed for a future time. Consequences are
seldom instant; instead, they accumulate until the inevitable day of reckoning finally
arrives and the price must be paid for our poor choices—choices that didn’t seem to
matter.
