Well, this time we will talk about two very important issues, the first topic
will deal with the legalization of marijuana, in which our partner
SHARON is in a place, where a group of students will answer some of
our questions. Forward, Sharon.

Interviewer (SHARON): Good afternoon, Jamed, Brenda, thanks for the link, that's
right, today I'm here: at the National University of Santa, one of the
most important universities in the Ancash region. The reason for my
visit to this great house of studies is to know the opinion of young
"santeños" about the legalization of marijuana, a very controversial
issue at the moment. Let's go!

Interviewer (SHARON): Good afternoon, My name’s Sharon and I'm a reporter for
the channel "YOUR OPINION MATTERS", could I ask you some
questions?
Student (JHON): Of course
Interviewer (SHARON): What's your name?
Student (JHON): Jhon
Interviewer (SHARON): How old are you, Jhon?
Student (JHON): I’m 20
Interviewer (SHARON): Do you study at this university, Jhon?
Student (JHON): Yes, I study Mechanical Engineering.
Interviewer (SHARON): Do you live in Chimbote?
Student (JHON): yes, I live in Chimbote.

Interviewer (SHARON): Well, I would like to know if you use marijuana and if so,
why?

Student (JHON): I do not consume marijuana, marijuana no is necessary for me,


because I'm a student and my parents taught me not to use any kind of
drug
Interviewer (SHARON): Do you know if there are types of marijuana?

Student (JHON): yes, there are the cannabis satira, cannabis indica, cannaabis
ruderalis and the hybrids
nterviewer (SHARON): In Peru, marijuana is legalized?
Student (JHON): It is not because most people would not take it as medicine but as
an addiction and contraband. It would seriously affect the economy to
dedicate to the cultivation of drugs, that is something that will ruin the
health and life of the population- lands that could be dedicated to food
and medicinal crops

Interviewer (SHARON): Do you think that if marijuana is legalized in Peru, would it


bring some benefit?

Student (JHON): Yes, it would help a lot in the treatment of many diseases that
nowadays with the medicine that we have can’t be cured also it could
be benefits for the Peruvian economy.

Interviewer (SHARON): Do you know what diseases can cause marijuana use?

Student (JHON): it can cause cardiac arrest as well as orthostatic hypotension


Interviewer (SHARON): Well. Jhon, those were all the questions, thanks for your

Interviewer (SHARON): Good afternoon, I'm a reporter for the channel "...", could I
ask you some questions?

Student (INGRID): Of Course, but just some minutes, because my classes are
already starting and I don’t want to be late for a classes.
Interviewer (SHARON): It's good, it will be fast. What's your name?
Student (INGRID): My name’s Ingrid
Interviewer (SHARON): How old are you?
Student (INGRID): I’m 18 years old
Interviewer (SHARON): Do you study at this university?
Student (INGRID): Yes
Interviewer (SHARON): Do you live in Chimbote?
Student (INGRID): No, I live in Casma but I come here every day
Interviewer (SHARON): Well, Ingrid, are you in favor of or against the legalization
of marijuana?

Student (INGRID): I’m in favor because there are people who need it for their
health used as medicine to calm pains, eat better, sleep well and it is less harmful
than a cigar because the cigarette ism ore processed and more harmful.
Interviewer (SHARON): What do you think of addicted people?

Student (INGRID): They are people who do not control the use of marijuana and
turn it into an addiction maybe there isn’t solution.
Interviewer (SHARON): Do you think that marijuana use causes addiction?
Student (INGRID): Yes, since it is a medicine that if used constantly can not stop
being consumed.
Interviewer (SHARON): Do you think that marijuana use has any disadvantage?

Student (INGRID): I think there are many disadvantages. For example, addiction,
problems with our health or cause death.

Student (ALEXANDER): Of course
Interviewer (SHARON): What's your name?

Student (ALEXANDER): I’m 21 years old.
Interviewer (SHARON): Do you study at this university?
Student (ALEXANDER):

or against the legalization of marijuana?

Student (ALEXANDER): I'm agree. Because it could be used in medicine and the
state would also earn profits.

Interviewer (SHARON): Do you consume marijuana?

Student (ALEXANDER): I do not consume. Because I have not had the need to
consume but I know people who do consume from time to time.
Interviewer (SHARON): Do you know some side effects of marijuana use?

Student (ALEXANDER): I think they are the increase in appetite and the dryness of
the mouth.

Interviewer (SHARON): What would you do if marijuana is legalized? Would you


buy?
Student (ALEXANDER): Well, if Marijuana is legalized and it came to be needed, I
think if I would buy

Interviewer (SHARON): Do you know what percentage of people consume


marijuana in Peru?

Student (ALEXANDER): For the last thing I've read, I believe that marijuana use in
young people increases to 8%
