Dear Sir or Madam,

I would like to express my desire to study at Berne University in Switzerland. I am

applying for the Master’s degree in Sciences (MSc) in Chemistry and Molecular
Sciences, major in Chemical Biology-Organic chemistry, starting in autumn 2011.
I believe my educational background would enable me to make a strong
contribution at the University. I am Chemical Engineer from San Agustín University
in Peru.

I believe that my academic as well as professional backgrounds make me an ideal

candidate for this masters program. My bachelor’s degree and professional license
are directly related to this program and this provides me with a competitive edge
and the background to thrive in this program. Also, I have more than six years of
work experience in the field of chemistry. Moreover I can say that I would like to
continue my studies in order to gain knowledge and experiences by academic
research and I believe a Master Degree in Chemistry and Molecular Sciences
would offer me the possibility of receiving the complete picture of all aspects of this
field.

The reason for choosing this specific Master Program comes from the fact that in
the near future I would like to get to know more things regarding for example
Natural Products Chemistry. I already got some ideas in my head, but
unfortunately until now I did not have the right knowledge and the right tools for
putting them in practice and that is why I know that this Master Program would be
an excellent starting point for me. Also if I will get selected for this program I will
have the opportunity to learn from the best and the fact that I will study in an
international environment will give me the privilege to create new relationships with
people from different cultures. I am also aware of the kind of dedication and
perseverance I will need to have for achieving the best results in the field and I
believe my background will qualify me for such a Master Program.

More than ever, being well-rounded academically and professionally is the key to
triumph in this global economy. My career aspirations after graduating are to obtain a
PhD degree in Chemistry and make a research of Peruvian’s natural products
Chemistry in order to make a positive contribution to the world.

Critical to my success in the masters program with this type of specialization is the
university and the location. It is important to study in a place where I can be
assured that I can acquire the knowledge and skills necessary to be successful
both academically and professionally and Berne University in Switzerland is ideal.
The uniqueness and challenge that this program represents makes this an
appealing and rewarding master’s degree to complete for me. After graduating, I
will understand chemical biology and organic synthesis in order to make a research
of Peruvian’s natural products Chemistry. The Switzerland’s high quality of
education, expertise and reputation worldwide in scientific knowledge is why I
chose this country to study in. The challenges of being confronted with the
dilemmas that come with working in an international environment excite me and
provide me with the passion to want to discover it more.

The above mentioned qualities along with my eagerness to succeed and

accomplish my goals will undoubtedly make me an asset to your university.

My studies at Berne University will unquestionably help facilitate my future

integration into any organization as a result of the intellectual growth I will
experience. I am looking forward to the opportunity to study at Berne University in
Switzerland and immerse myself in my studies and the Swiss culture and language
thereby increasing my cultural awareness. My time spent in Switzerland will bring
enduring transformations in all aspects of my life that will assist me in attaining my
academic, personal and career goals.

Finally I can say that I look forward to join this Master Degree Program in
Chemistry and Molecular Sciences in order to prove my abilities and gain new
skills and I will be patiently waiting for a positive reply.
