INTRODUCTION

Background of the study

Computer is important to school it improves students’ research skills by encouraging

them to look for information on the Internet. It enables them to research various topics by
seeking relevant books that could be digitally available online. The Internet also contains
search options, which expose students to diverse ways of obtaining information. Thanks to
the speedy nature of the Internet, students can research their desired topics within minutes.
Incorporating computer education in schools can inspire students to undertake careers in
technology and enhance their understanding of how computer technology impacts people’s
daily lives. The knowledge Acquired in elementary and high school may increase their
interest in computer-related fields during their college education. Furthermore, computer
education provides students with grounding in computer-related software and activities, such
as using office suite, programming languages and creating data sheets. Students can apply
these skills to a range of occupations later in life.

Cansinala High School was established on May 1972. It is a public school located at
Cansinala Apalit Pampanga. Since then, the school became the central school for high
school students because Cansinala is the only Barangay that has a High School. Nowadays,
the school had their own computer laboratory but still there are major and minor problems
being encountered at the said laboratory. In a world of innovation, computer network is one
of the key to enhance and expand the resources of an individual or a group in a society.
Their computer laboratory is not in the mainstream in terms of information technology. The
computers are still not interconnected that’s why the flow of information isn’t convenient.
Why do we need to be stagnant if there is a way to improve the quality education where
everyone looks forward to us? Imagine what convenient it can be if we will implement the
interconnected computer system in our school.

Objectives

1. To design a functional computer network setup that can be used as reference or

implementing of computer network.
2. To create a computer network system that will benefit the school interms of
quality education and the instructor for convenient teaching.
3. To develop a fast and reliable flow of information and administrative controlling
and monitoring of the computer.

Scope and Delimitation

1. Proposed computer network setup can only be used in computer laboratory at

Cansinala High School
2. The proposed computer network system has a server that will control and monitor the
client computers
3. The proposed Wi-Fi system can be used at the faculty and library and will have
filtering capability for browsing unwanted websites.

Significance of the study

This study will be a great help for the following:

To the computer Instructors

Computer instructors can now monitor and control students computer for more
efficient and convenient teaching.

To the Faculty

Faculty members can use the wireless internet at the faculty room.

To the Students

Students can access the internet in library and computer lab but they cannot access
the other websites like gaming sites and porn sites. It is only good for research.

To Future Researchers

It can be us as reference of the future researchers who would like to create a

computer network system and Wi-Fi connections and it can use by the future researcher’s in
their own research about computer networks.
