Youth Choir Report

Since the initiation of Salvation Theatre youth choir, choir members have progressed
through various stages of growth; numerical growth, mental and spiritual growth.
Through the various set guidelines, all the members of the youth choir are
developing skills that will enable them to thrive in both the spiritual and physical
arena.

Under the new leadership, there are two main roles. 1) Music Director (MD) 2) Choir
leader (CL). The MD is in charge of managing and arranging the ministration to
ensure musicians and worship leaders perform well. The CL is responsible for
planning and organising rehearsals. MD and CL work together to ensure choir
practice runs smoothly.

Achievements:

- One person joined the choir this year

- Those that are usually shy and quiet have started leading call to worship

leading intro and offering

Special Ministrations:

The youth choir were invited to minister at one event this year:

We also ministered during Transform Me:

- This was our best choir ministration to date. The choir connected with the
songs and ministered energetically. More choir members were also able to
lead songs at the event this year.

Goals/ Improvements for 2018:

- To have more choir members able to lead main praise and worship
- To build on spiritual growth that is already taking place in the life of choir
members
- To improve the technical aspect of praise and worship i.e. use of click tracks
- To increase the number of male (tenor) singers
- Aim to have separate instrumental rehearsals
- Incorporate 5-10 minutes word during rehearsals
- To focus on bringing those that are still shy out of their shell.
- To build on those who have started leading call to worship to the point where
they are comfortable and confident with it.
