Swedish people are generally pretty good at English. If you are in a big city, you should have
no trouble communicating by only English. Even in the countryside, most people understand
basic phrases. Be aware however that food menus, transport etc are almost never in English.
So if you can't work out that biff is Swedish for "beef," don’t hesitate to ask people to translate.

country. For example, saltlakrits or “salty liquorice” is a salty candy with no added sugar and
is one of the most popular sweets in Sweden. You should try it! Perhaps you'll find a new
delicacy you enjoy, or will at the very least have a food experience you'll never forget.
