Bitalag Integrated School is a DepED Managed partially urban public

Integrated Kinder, Elementary and Secondary School.

Bitalag Integrated School is a Public Elementary School specifically

located at F. Rodriguez Road in the Municipality of Bacnotan, in province of

La Union, and in the Region of I – Ilocos Region.

Problem Definition

In using a manual processing to keep and update the records or files

of every student reveals the following problems:

1. Unrecognized records of alumi

Records that cannot be recognize or that can be lost.

2. Insufficient space in storing and compiling alumi’s record

This is one of the concerns because as the number of alumni’s

increases. Also in compiling the records, there will be tons of papers

to compile.

3. Difficulty in finding a certain records of alumni

Time consuming because it requires a long period of time after you

finds the records of alumni.

 4. Records are not surely secured

At time passes by, record books or log books are getting older and older

and some instances like tearing down of pages or fading out of the

writings are being observed.

Objectives of the study

The general objective of the system is to develop an alumni tracer with

sms notification system that aims to:

1. Help the person who is in charge to recognize the student’s record

at all times.

2. Keep the files a minute to compile and for easy backup.

3. Ensure the most efficient use of time in finding records by

searching using his/her name.

4. Secured (in calamities and unwanted circumstances), easily access,

updated and monitor all the records for a long period of years.

Project Description

The researchers’ proposed a study to create an alumni tracer with

SMS notification system that improves the efficiency of the tracing

processes, announcements and events that involves the students or the

alumni. The proposed system was developed to solve the above problems

faced by the present manual system by using latest technology.

 The front end used to develop the alumni tracer with SMS notification

will be a web based application whose main language of programming will

be PHP. Alumni will be able to inform about the school’s events and

projects.
