HOW TO GUIDE
DOWNLOADING THE FILES
As the download file is greater than 1GB, we had to host the files on our Dropbox. To download the
files open the DOWNLOAD FILES text file and click the link inside. If clicking the link doesn’t work,
copy and paste it into your browser. Simply navigate to the Download button and click it! You also
have the option to Sync the files to your own Dropbox

PLACING YOUR ARTWORK

Placing your artwork on the mock up is quite simple. Once you have the PSD open in Photoshop,
open up your layers window and find the Your Design layer and double click it. It’ll open up a new
file where you can delete the default design we provided and place your own. All you need to do is
copy and paste your design, then turn the placement guide layer on to place your design correctly,
save and close the smart object file. Once you go back to the mock up, your design will be placed
on the shirt.

DISPLACEMENT MAPS
Included with our mockups is 3D mapping. These maps track the folds and creases of the item and
apply them to the design to create an ultrarealistic representation of your printed design. If you’d
like to turn them off, all you need to do is locate the Artwork folder again and go to the ARTWORK
LAYER. To the right of the layer name you’ll see two circles and a dropdown arrow. This is to let you
know that there are smart filters being applied to this smart object. Click the dropdown arrow and
you’ll see the Displace filter. If you click the eye to the left, the displacement filter will turn off. Simply
click the eye again to turn it back on.

COLOR LIBRARIES
Attention to detail can be a key factor when displaying your products to potential customers and
colors can be super important. That’s why we have included the entire Bella + Canvas color library
with this product. The color libraries are located in the Colors & Patterns folder in the downloaded
zip. We’re always adding more colors as Bella + Canvas adds them so let us know if there’s a color
we’ve missed that you want included!

To utilise the libraries simply double click on the .act file and all the colors will be loaded into your
swatches panel. Pick which color you want to use and apply it to the Shirt Color layer.

HEATHER PATTERNS
We have also included a number of heather patterns that you can apply to your designs. To use the
patterns, find the Textures folder in the layers window and open it up. The layer is called Heather
Pattern. By default we have turned the layer visilibity off. To activate the pattern simply click the
checkbox to the right of the layer.

To change the heather pattern, double click on the thumbnail to open up the pattern settings
window. Then on the left you’ll see the current pattern and a dropdown arrow. Click the arrow to
see a the current patterns loaded in your computer. To load our set of patterns in, click the gear icon
in the top right of the window and select “Load Patterns”. Then navigate to the “Colors & Patterns”
folder that you downloaded and select the patterns file (.pat)

If the pattern is too strong, turn the opacity percentage down. Leave the blending mode to multiply.

TAGS
We’ve included a number of different tags in the design. For the inside neck tag, you can choose
the American Apparel or a printed tag. Edit the artwork for these in the same fashion as the shirt
design. You can of course choose to simply turn all of these options off if you wish.

Note. Not all mockups come with American Apparel or a printed tag.

EXTRAS
Some mockups include additional extras that allow you to customize the garment as well. To see
what each mockup has open up the Extras folder and take a look. You can change the
colors/patterns of many different things depending on the mockup.
