2. explain the meaning of Transmission media, channels, receivers,
terms related to senders, modulation, demodulation,
telecommunication. bandwidth; telecommuting.
Define clearly what is a Transmission media as used in the telecommunication
process
Transmission media is a pathway or some material through which information may
be sent and received.
Identified as use of Telephone line, Coaxial Cable, Twisted Pair Cable, Fiber
Optic, Satellite Transmission of data, Microwave Radio signals, use of
Infrared Technologies and Blue tooth technology.
Using examples define each and state how they are used to transfer data in the
telecommunication process.
How is Coaxial Cable useful for the transfer of data? When do we not use
Coaxial Cable to support data transfer? What are the associated disadvantages
and advantages with the use of Coaxial Cable? What is the appropriate
bandwidth?
What atmospheric condition affects each of these communication medias?
What are the physically restrictions associated with the use of Fiber Optic
Cable versus Coaxial Cable?
What are the challenges of using named wireless medias in the
telecommunications process?
Under what conditions do we use named transmission media?
Which media is suitable to transmit data safely, at high speed and large
quantity versus low speed and low cost at moderate transmission rate?
