Indian Institute of Petroleum and Energy, (II)E) is an Institute of National Importance at par
with all other IITs and IIMs and enacted by Parliament vide the Indian Institute of Petroleum
& Energy Act, 2017 (No : 3 of 2018). It has started its operations in Visakhapatnam, the State
of Andhra Pradesh, engaged in teaching, research and development and requires non
teaching staff.
Applications are invited for the following non-faculty positions, and all the positions carry
scales of pay at appropriate levels of VII Central Pay Commission of the Government of India,
as applicable to all the IITs.

1. Post : REGISTRAR
The Institute invites applications from Indian Nationals possessing excellent academic track
record, commitment to top quality teaching and proven credentials for carrying out
outstanding research and development for its various Departments. The selected candidate
shall be appointed for three years as Registrar and can be extendable for another two years
(not more that five years all put together).
Job Description:
The post of the Registrar is one of the key positions in the administrative set up of the
Institute. He is the head of the administrative wing of the Institute. Administration in IIPE is
a service function, with the main goal of providing support to the academic side of the
Institute. The key function of the Registrar, therefore, is to ensure that the administrative
wing provides efficient and courteous support to students, faculty, academic functionaries,
etc. so they can excel in teaching and R&D while ensuring that all statutory requirements
are being met. The roles and responsibilities of Registrar include (but are not limited to):
Depending upon the experience, educational qualification, etc. the pay scale will be at Level
14 of VII CPC – Rs. 1,44,200 – 2,18,200. DA will be applicable as per the rates applicable to
the staff of the Government of India. Other benefits like HRA, LTC, NPS etc., which are
generally applicable to the staff in other IITs will be applicable. The option of Campus
housing is also available, subject to availability. Advance increments may be granted to the
deserving candidate, on the discretion of the Selection Committee, if he/she is otherwise
eligible.
Essential:
1. A postgraduate degree with 1st division or equivalent grade from a reputed Institution.
2. At least 15 years of administrative / teaching experience, with at least 8 years of
administrative experience at a senior level (e.g. Deputy Registrar/General Manager or
equivalent/… or above.) in a reputed Institution / University / Corporate Organization.
Desirable
1. A postgraduate degree in Engineering/Law/Management from a reputed Institution.
3. Good knowledge of Govt. rules and regulations on all matters viz. establishment,
works, procurement, general financial rules etc.
4. Experience in financial management, project management, human relations and
personnel management, industrial relations; coordinating and leading a team.
General Information/Condition/Instructions :
1. The applicant should not be more than 55 years of age. However, this can be relaxed
for suitable candidates. The appointment will be either on deputation or on contract
for a period of up to three years, which can be renewed by two years (not more than
five years all put together). The age of retirement will be 60 years.

The role of the Librarian including the suggestion of various books and journals by
referring various Information technology and get it done through the administration.
Also to assess the estimation of the budget required for an year to run the library
effectively with all the necessary requirements.
The Librarian should have all academic knowledge of the field and to be associated
with the faculty, students from time to time and he/she has to present the budget for
the books required for the Library from time to time.

Administration / Management / Accounting / HR and similar areas with 12 years of
experience.

with other IITs will be applicable to the IIPE also..
Expectations from the candidate: The Deputy Librarian is to act as Incharge in the
absence of the Librarian and managing the Library reporting to the Librarian; and he
will be the second line management of Library reporting to the Librarian. He has to
assist the Librarian in all the matters relating to the Library and all similar functions of
the Librarian he/she also has to attend, and also to effectively organize the Library
meeting the requirements of students and faculty. The candidate is expected to be
well acquainted with the computerized operations of the Library.
He / She is also expected to have good English communication skills both written and
spoken. Spoken Knowledge of Hindi fluently apart from Telugu is desirable.

Administration / Acadmics Purchases and Stores / Accounts from Governments
organisations / etc at the level of Assistant or equivalent post; Desirable : Applicants
should have knowledge and hands on experience of day to day office work. Applicants
should be proficient in MS Office, Tally and related applications and should be able to
work in computerized working environment, good communication, drafting skills, etc.;
and the Incumbent is expected to work in Administration / Academics / Purchase &
Stores / Accounts; He/she also should be well conversed with the operation of the
Computer for documentation. Knowledge of shorthand will be an added qualification.
The persons appointed on a contractual basis initially for a period not more than three
years and likely extendable by two more years, based on their performance and other
indicators.

Candidates are advised to write their name and post applied for on the back side
of the Demand draft. In case, the candidate applies more than one post, he/she
has to enclose separate Demand Draft worth Rs. 500/- for each application.
Candidates belonging to SC/ST, PwD category and Women candidates, need not
attach any Demand draft; but however they have to imperatively attach the
respective valid Community Certificate issued by the competent Government

10) The prescribed qualifications / experience indicated are bare minimum and mere
possession of same will not entitle the candidate to be called for
interview/selection. Where number of applications received in response to an
advertisement is large, it may not be convenient or possible to call all the
candidates. The Institute may thus restrict the number of candidates to be called
for written examination / skill test / interview to a reasonable limit at its discretion;
