This research took place in the borderland of Greece and more precisely in the town

of Konitsa and the village of Plikati. It aims to explore the narratives about the Greek
and Albanian language amongst families in the Konitsa area and how are the latter
affected by the national discourse. It also describes the role of the “border” in these
meta-linguistic narratives and the modes in which the ideologies of language are
performed.
