CONTENT STANDARD : 5.1 By the end of the 6 year primary schooling, pupils will be able to use different word
classes correctly and appropriately.
LEARNING STANDARD : 5.1.1 Able to use nouns correctly and appropriately: (d) (e)
LEARNING OBJECTIVES : By the end of the lesson, the pupils will be able to:
1. Know what countable nouns and uncountable nouns are.
2. Use countable nouns and uncountable nouns in writing.

TEACHER’S REFLECTION :
13 out of 15 pupils were able to know what countable nouns and uncountable nouns
are and use countable nouns and uncountable nouns in writing. Other 2 pupils were
given guidance.

Complementary: 4.2 Communicate basic information intelligibly for a range of purposes in print and
digital media
LEARNING STANDARD : Main: 4.3.3 Plan, draft and write simple sentences
Complementary: 4.2.1 Ask for and give basic personal information using basic questions and
statements
LEARNING OBJECTIVES : Main: At the end of the lesson, pupils will be able to write 3 out of 5 simple sentences about
what activities they do in a week with correct spelling.
Complementary: At the end of the lesson, pupils will be able to write about their favourite day
and activities with guidance.

i. PRE-LESSON : PRE-LESSON TASK 1: WORK OUT THE WORDS
ii. LESSON DEVELOPMENT : 1. Pupils will sit or stand in a circle. Each pupil will be given a word card. Pupils will find friends to make
sentences. They will stand in a line to make a sentence with their words.
Pupils will say their sentences.
2. Teacher will put the sentences on the board. Elicit the need for full stops.
3. Play a game to elicit the spelling of favourite and leave the word on the board.
4. Teacher will tell pupils that your favourite day is X. Teacher will tell pupils what she do on that day.
Ask pupils to write their favourite day in their exercise books. They can also write what they do on that
day, depending on the proficiency level of your class or pupils. Monitor and help pupils as necessary.
5. Ask pupils to check their partner’s writing.
6. Hand out worksheet to pupils. They should write their favourite day at the top of the page. On the lines
at the bottom, they write My favourite day is X. They can also write I xxx on xxxs if they drafted this in
stage 3. They draw a picture in the box.
7. Display pupils’ work in the classroom. Ask pupils to tell the class about their work.

REFLECTION 10 out of 11 pupils were able to use nouns correctly and appropriately the singular nouns and
plural nouns. They were able to change the singular to plural nouns and vice versa. One pupil was
given guidance and remedial worksheet.
