Transition to a SmartStruxure solution:

* StruxureWare Building Operation WorkStation software is installed on the same

machines as TAC I/NET SEVEN v2.43.
** Server includes softw are only ; server machine is not included.
Enterprise Server software can be installed on a WorkStation machine.

WorkStation software on TA C I/NE T
workstation machines
o Requires I/NE T Seven v2.43
software for transition support

Note: TAC I/NE T database remains in the system.

After transition, leverage the benefits of StruxureWare Building Operation.

● Use the WebStation interface to access StruxureWare Building Operation through a web browser.

Expanding a transitioned system:

Enterprise Server and Reports Server include software only; server machine is
not included.
If Reports Server is included in the system design, it can be installed on the
same machine as the Enterprise Server (but cannot be installed on a
WorkStation machine).

Depending on machine specific ations, Reports Server may reside on the

continue expanding the system using:
● Automation S erver and I/O modules
● Cont rollers and devices natively supporting open protocols: BACnet, LON, Modbus, and web services

Transition candidates
SmartStruxure transition using StruxureWare Building Operation v1.3 is targeted for TAC I/NE T building
management sites.
Compatible for TAC I/NE T sites using X527-NPRs and NP R 2000s
o Includes X527, used only for NPR (routing Controller LAN to IP) and web access
Any dial links that need to interface with Strux ureWare Building Operation (e.g. NPR Dial, Integrated Dial,
Auto-Dial/Auto-A nswer) must be replaced with NetPlus Rout ers (i.e. Xenta 527-NP Rs) for StruxureWare
Building Operation to connect automatically to each link.

Gateways (i.e. ICI or Xenta 913) in use at TAC I/ NE T sites will continue to operate. The I/NE T objects which
represent third party devices can be “viewed” from StruxureWare Building Operation.

Sites including TAC I/NET Security:

If an integrat ed (HVAC and Security) site chooses to transition, they will need to have two parallel user
interfaces, treating the site like two systems:
1. StruxureWare Building Operation for BMS
2. TA C I/NE T SEVEN Workstation for Security

Alarms, events, intruder det ection devices and door status information will be visible from StruxureWare
Building Operation. However, all card holder (individuals) related objects and data, access rights and
functions (such as door control, badging and video integration) will require the operator to use the I/ NE T Host
software.

Sites that have an I/NET to Vista transi tion:

If an integrat ed (I/NE T to Vista) site chooses to transition to a SmartStruxure solution, they will need to have
two parallel user interfaces:
1. StruxureWare Building Operation (for I/NE T and SmartStruxure)
2. Vista Server/Workstation (for all Vista additions to the I/NE T site)

Scalability
TA C I/NE T transition to a SmartStruxure solution has been tested for sites up to 100,000 points. The
following serves as general scalability guidelines:

Current TAC I/NET system:

Max # of points per Ent erprise Server 100,000
Max # of LA N controllers per Enterpris e Server 300
Max # of Links per Enterprise S erver 55
Max # of cont rollers per Link 32

Add-on StruxureWare solution components:

Max # of concurrent users
10
(includes sum of WorkStation + WebStation users simultaneously)
Max # of Automation Servers added 32
