ACKNOWLEGEMENT
This report was prepared as the partial fulfillment of the academic requirement of NEB +2
Computer Science (XI) subject. Effort has been made to ensure that the report is accurate
and professional as far as possible.
I want to thank my teachers Kamal Rai and Mukti Ghimire to guide me to prepare it
report. I want to thank my brother Niraj Adhikari to help me to search some websites. I
also thank full to my friends Raj Kumar Rai and Roshan Karki to share some ideas.

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
This report has been prepared for the partial fulfillment of the course requirement for the
NEB Grade XI Computer Science.
The report is divided into three chapters. The first chapter is about ‘Operating system’ in
which DOS and the windows are studied. We have used simple commands like; mkdir,
rmdir, copy con, tree, dir, edit, rmdir /s, attrib +r, attrib +h etc at DOS and have practiced
to make folders, file and delete, hide and rename them at Windows Operating System.
The second chapter is about ‘Application Package’ in which we have studied Word
processor, Spreadsheet and Presentation. We have learnt to make simple format document
in MS. word by using various features like; page layout, margins, encrypt document, text
box, header, footer, page number, word art, justify, bullets, table, paragraph, shapes,
Spelling and Grammar, and print etc. as needed. The Spreadsheet is learnt b using suitable
formula (mentioning name of each cells) and function like; SUM, MAX, COUNTIF,
RANK, IF, IF (AND…..) etc. by applying DRAG. Presentation prepares to present any
task systematically and attractively with sequence by using features; text boxes, shapes,
format, new slides, Animations, slide transition type, handouts print etc. with the help of
paint to take screenshot.
The third chapter is ‘Web Page Designing’. The web page designing is studied by using
commands to prepare a web page like; <html>, <head>, <title>, <body>, <b>, <i>, <U>,
<br>, <p>, <h1>, <h2>, <table>, <img src=…..>, <a href=…..> <table>, <tr>, <td> etc. as
needed to prepare suitable web page.

CHAPTER 1: OPERATING SYSTEM
1.1 DOS
1.1.1 Introduction
DOS is a type operating system which is based on command based interface from which
we can execute our computer like making file folder etc. we can open DOS through the
………. It is older type of operating system which is less used today. We can create
differences files and folder through it without using icons or graphics. It is optional OS
now and only uses to know computer history and difficulties in old type of operating
system. It is major sample of command user interface of operating system. MS-DOS is a
non-graphical command line operating system derived from 86-DOS that was created for
IBM compatible computers. MS-DOS originally written by Tim Paterson and introduced
by Microsoft in August 1981 and was last updated in 1994 when MS-DOS 6.22 was
released. MS-DOS allows the user to navigate, open, and otherwise manipulate files on
their computer from a command line instead of a GUI like Windows.

1.2 The Windows
1.1.2 Introduction
The window is also used for same purpose as DOS, but it is in Graphics based interface
which is popularly used now. It is easy to use and not need to study about all of the hard of
computer to only use computer. It is used today to make many types of documents, files,
software, programs etc. It is easier operating system in icons base interface.

CHAPTER 2: APPLICATION PACKAE
2.1 Word Processer
2.1.1 Introduction
Word processer is very useful program to make CV, documents, reports etc. Here CV is
prepared as word processer with its major concepts. There are photos, personal detail,
career aim, education, works experience; training, other achievements are included with
header and footer, page number etc. We can use bold, italic, underline, font size etc

2.2 Spreadsheet
2.2.1 Introduction
Spreadsheet is mainly use for auto calculation by computer by using suitable formula and
function. It is use for prepare mark sheet/grade sheet, chart etc.

2.3 Presentation
2.3.1 Introduction
Presentation prepares to present any task systematically and attractively with sequence.

CHAPTER 3: WEB PAGE DESIGNING
3.1 Introduction
Web page is the softcopy which can find in WWW. The web page is not prepared directly
by we write command to prepare it. ‘Notepad’ is used to write the commands of web page
and prepared web page is allowed to publish through internet. We have studied about
making heading, inserting pictures, preparing background pictures or color, making font
bold, italic, underlined, colored, size etc by using commands <html>, <head>, <title>,
<body>, <b>, <i>, <U>, <br>, <p>, <h1>, <h2>, <table>, <img src=…..>, etc. We can
create hyperlink to transform from one web page to another web page to make easier for
users by using command <a href=”……”>. There can create table by command <table> by
maintaining row and columb by commands <tr>, <td> etc.
