A) In the video, Donavan Livingston who is Harvard graduate ’s gave a powerful speech at

the Harvard Graduate School Education’s convocation. The speaker addressed his main
concern was inspiring future educators. Donavan Livingston delivered his spoken word
poem, “Lift Off” to audience members and the argument of this poetic speech encourages
a revolution Educators to reform the education system through valuing student expression.
Besides that, he also argues logically of education reform by appealing to his credibility
and his audience’s passion for education. In his video speech also, the important points
mentioned by speaker is identifies the Education system’s inequalities. He begin by
hooking his audience with an informative messages that associates to an educator’s studies.
In the word of Horace Mann 1848: “Education then, beyond all other devices of human
origin, is a great equalizer of the conditions of me. The speaker appeals to logic by citing
an educational reformer, whose work revolutionized education institutions in the early
1800’s. The next important point that is mentioned by the speaker is rhythmic volume
volume of intelligence on racial injustice, which achieves credential on the topic. He first
claims credibility in front of the Harvard graduate audience by addressing his movement
of achievement “I stand here, a manifestation of love and pain”. I think the messages he
tried to convey is meaningful because he tell that education is one of the few pathways out
of poverty and with education we can change our social class.

B) From the video, the speaker mentioned that he use a variety a variety of non-verbal
communications which we can see the movement of kinetics that involves the physical
movement of the body in describing the situation and facial expressions. The speaker use
distinctive tone of speech while emphasizing his views on the important of education.

C) Verbal communication is verbally speaking to communicate to other people using words

or noises to get our message across to the person that we are speaking to. Non-verbal
communication is communicating to people using sign language or simple hand
movements and also body language such as facial gestures and eyes contact. Based on my
experience to improve our verbal and non-verbal communication skills to be an effective
communicator is making eye contact while communicating with people is important
because it will shows that we are listening to them. Besides that, to be effective
communicator, we must always trying to speak clearly and use the words that everyone can
understand easily. We also must have a relaxed body language and do keep to the point
when explaining something so that we can become a effective communicator.
