    Details of CDM process (216MW Upper Trishuli-1 HEP):

    1. A form namely "CDM project activity prior consideration form" is to be downloaded (from:
    cdm.unfccc.int) and filled for intimating UNFCCC about company's interest to go for CDM. This is
    called pre-registration.
    2. PIN form may be obtained from "Designated National Authority (DNA)" under Ministry of Forest
    and Environment (MoFE).
    3. PIN form needs to be filled and submitted back to MoFE.
    4. No objection letter needs to be obtained from DNA.
    5. Approved consolidated methodology to be followed as " Grid Connected electricity generation
    from renewable sources".
    6. Project Design Document (PDD) to be prepared by third party namely "Designated Operational
    Entity (DOE)" on company's behalf –there are around 30 such entities worldwide. The
    document shall be submitted to UNFCCC for validation.

    Other relevant information (provided by Programme Officer- Climate and Carbon Unit of AEPC)

    1. It may be time consuming process to find the baseline for grid emission/grid emission factor (GEF)
    for electrical energy being imported from India (Mix of Thermal/Hydro/Nuclear/Solar and
    Wind).
    2. Additionally needs to be properly justified.
