STEP 2. Check the fuel level. • Never run the engine without the air cleaner. Rapid engine wear will result from contaminants
such as dust and dirt being drawn through the carburettor into the engine.
Use ONLY Diesel Fuel
Remove fuel tank cap (anti-clockwise). If the fuel level is low, refill the fuel tank. STEP 4. Check connection of the Suction and Discharge hoses
Do not use petrol or add oil to the fuel tank. Do not use dirty or contaminated diesel fuel. Ensure the hose clamp ring, hose coupler are firmly connected to the Suction Hose. Check that

Low Oil Alert System
The low oil alert system is designed to prevent engine damage caused by an insufficient amount
of oil in the crankcase. Before the oil level in the crankcase falls below a safe limit, the low oil alert
system will automatically shut down the engine, even when the engine switch is in the ON position.
THROTTLE LEVER
STARTER GRIP If the low oil alert system shuts down the engine, check the oil level and add the recommended
engine oil.

FUEL TAP
• Make sure that the ignition switch and fuel tap are in the "OFF" position when the water pump
is not in use or being transported and/or stored.
Drain the oil while the engine is still warm to assure rapid and complete draining. A dirty air cleaner will restrict air flow resulting in hard starting, loss of power and black exhaust
smoke. To prevent water pump malfunction, service the air cleaner regularly. Service more
frequently when operating the water pump in extremely dusty areas.
• Make sure the ignition switch and the fuel tap are in the OFF position before draining oil.
Step 1. Remove the oil filler dipstick. • Do not use petrol, diesel fuel or low flash point solvents for cleaning. They are flammable and
explosive under certain conditions.
Step 2. Remove oil drain plug and drain all used dirty oil into a container.
Step 3. Refit oil drain plug and tighten securely.
Step 4. Refill with the recommended SAE10W/30 Grade Oil and check oil level.
