Overview

This workbook contains flow check forms for high volume particulate sampler for PM10 or TSP.
This workbook will be used by WDNR for audits of these types of samplers
There are three types of flow controls used in these samplers. A separate check form has been created for each type.

Instructions
Fill in the Orifice Qa Calibration worksheet with the calibration data points for the orifice being used. Alternatively, the Orifice
ID, Calibration Date, Slope and Intercpet may be entered manually in the appropriate fields of the check form.
Based on the type of instrument flow control being used, select the apprpriate check sheet.
Volumetrically controlled (Choked flow venturi) - Use the Volumetric worksheet
Mass Flow Controlled (MFC, or Rheostat) - use the MFC worksheet
Computer Controlled (Plus type samplers) - use the Computer worksheet

Protection
The worksheets are protected and only cetain cells have been unlocked. Some unlocked cells may contain formulas or
references which may be desirable to overwrite with manual entries.
If the sheets need to be edited beyond the unlocked fields, the protection may be turned off in the file menu. Protection is not
password locked.

Calculations

Orifice Actual (Qa) = 1 / Slope * (SQRT(Orifice * (Ta / Pa)) - Intercept)

Orifice is orifice pressure in inches of Water
Ta is ambient temperature in degrees Kelvin
Pa is barometric pressure in mm Hg

Pf (in H2O) = stagnation pressure Pf (mm Hg) = Pf (in H2O) * 25.4 / 13.61

Pressure Ratio (Po/Pa) = 1 - (Pf mm Hg )/ (Pa mm Hg)

% Difference = 100 * (Look Up Flow - Orifice Flow) / Orifice Flow

Audit: Check 1 point at the Pf of a clean filter with an orifice other than the one normally used to verfiy by site opearator
