To whom it may concern,

It is with confidence and enthusiasm I recommend Sabrina Lauinger for a teaching position. I had the pleasure
of having Sabrina in my classroom as a student teacher for the 2017-2018 school year. Miss Lauinger was a
valued member of our staff. She collaborated daily with her kindergarten team, literacy specialist and a health
care aide. She both accepted and offered suggestions and support. Staff and parents respected her as poised,
conscientious and easy to communicate with.

Miss Lauinger fostered a positive classroom climate that focused on responsibility and valuing self and others.
She ensured every child felt comfortable to take an active part in our classroom community. Miss Lauinger had
a calm and consistent approach to management. Students were aware of her expectations for routines,
procedures and behavior. She created and successfully implemented classroom management strategies, such as
verbal and nonverbal cues during reading and writing workshop and transitions.

Miss Lauinger’s understanding of the growth and development of children was instrumental in helping her
provide meaningful and motivational lessons. Her lessons were well prepared and meaningful. She used
technology to enhance her lessons where it applied. She was aware of children’s strengths, prior learning
experiences and preferred learning styles. Miss Lauinger used a variety of instructional strategies. She was
flexible and adjusted plans when she recognized a more effective strategy. She provided differentiated
instruction during Reading, Writing and Math Workshop and made accommodations for English Language
Learners. Throughout her lessons, Miss Lauinger looked for evidence of learning. She used data to guide her
instruction.

Miss Lauinger was involved beyond the classroom. She was an active participant in parent teacher conferences,
school leadership meetings, referrals for special education services, and many professional development
meetings, including the kindergarten literacy team. I believe that she will always do what she can to support her
students by going above and beyond her work responsibilities.

Miss Lauinger possesses excellent verbal and written communication and collaboration skills. She is dedicated,
flexible, and reflective. Miss Lauinger has an exemplary work ethic and has a genuine compassion for children
and their development. She is committed to life-long learning and continued development as an educator. Her
positive nature and warmth shine through all she does. Miss Lauinger would be an excellent addition to any
elementary staff. I highly recommend her for a teaching position.

Sincerely,

Danielle Davenport
