Comments

I think you created a great abstract! After reading your abstract, I realize there were areas that
I could have improved on in my own abstract. This is a really important topic to address to
improve nursing education and you clearly expressed the gap in critical thinking at the pre-
licensure nursing education level. The references helped to support how Problem Based
Learning (PBL) could be used in nursing education to address the gap in critical thinking in
nursing students.

Two small areas that I think you could have improved on are the title and overall clarity. As a
future nursing educator, your title defiantly draws me to it, but I think you could have improved
your title by elaborating more. For example, you could have included what level of nursing
education you were focusing on, ADN, BSN, and/or all pre-licensures programs? I think this
would have helped to provide more insight on your topic. In your abstract, you did a great job
at providing an example of how a PBL curriculum could be implemented and you have a strong
introductory and concluding paragraph in your abstract explaining in detail, the importance of
your topic. It was a little difficult to follow the evaluation of PBL and the student feedback
section in the abstract. During your practicum experience, did you implement PBL?

Overall, I think you did a really great job on your abstract! Like I said before, your abstract
helped me to identify ways I could have improved my own abstract. I have never submitted an
abstract to a conference before, but I hope to in the future. I think your abstract would have a
great chance at being accepted at any nursing conference because it is an important topic and it
was designed clearly and professionally.
