1.0 BASIC DATA

Width of Seismic shear key (along traffic direction) we = 0.250 m

Height of CG of Load acting Longitudinal above point of fixity av = 0.666 m

2.0 CALCULATION OF SEISMIC COEFFICIENT

3.0 MATERIAL PROPERTIES

Grade of concrete fck = 60 MPa


Grade of reinforcement fy = 500 MPa
Cover to reinforcement = 0.050 m

4.0 CALCULATION OF DESIGN LOAD IN TRANSVERSE DIRECTION

Mass acting in transverse direction = 853.4 t


Seismic Load acting in transverse direction (Unfactored) = 97.3 t

Total Radial Force acting = 0.07 t/m


Force shared by one side seismic shear key (Unfactored) = 2.89 t

Bearings are design for Longitudinal seismic & LWR forces but still Shear key is design to protect
dislodgement of superstructure if bearing fails as second line of defence.

Mass acting in longitudinal direction = 784.5 t


Seismic Load acting in longitudinal direction (Unfactored) = 89.4 t

LWR forces acting in longitudinal direction = 1.1 t/m


Total LWR force acting (Unfactored) = 49.0 t
Total Radial Force acting = 0.07 t/m
Force shared by single seismic shear key (Unfactored) = 1.45 t
