By the end of the lesson, the learners should be able to:
1. Define programming.
2. Explain the phases of the Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
3. Appreciate the value of programming in creating computer applications.

People use websites for different reasons and purpose.


Learning Activities:
A. Motivation
Divide the class into 4 groups. Ask the students to brainstorm on what they know
about programming. Instruct them to write their answers in a manila paper. Have the
students present in front of the class. Tell them to just mention what they can
remember about each term that they wrote.

B. Class Discussion
Discuss the contribution of John Von Neumann in the field of computer programming.
Talk about the basic concepts related to programming. You can counter check the
terms mentioned by the students during the Motivation Part. Guide the students in
understanding the phases of Systems Development Life Cycle.

C. Values Integration
Realize the value of programming in the creation of computer applications.

Evaluation:

Instruct the students to answer the activity on page 7 their textbook.

Homework
Give the students the following assignment:
1. Define flowchart and Pseudo coding.

Write your answer in your notebook.
