After observing him closely for nearly four months, Ican attest, with confidence, that Mr. Zentner has become the type of teacher any school would want and any student ‘would be lucky to have, Jaret placed a great deal of importance on professionalism in his approach t teaching. On a daily ‘basis, he dealt with students and colleagues positively and cheerfully. In mentoring Mr. Zentner,1 discovered that he takes great pride in preparing his lestons, that he considers effective ways to teach the essential outcomes, and that he uses technology effectively to enhance student learning. ‘With struggling grade 11 students, in particular, Jrett developed a classroom atmosphere that was safe, pleasant, and often engaging. His lessons provided opportunities for student growth through discovery, participation, and focused practice. In my role as an advisor, frequently observed Mr. Zentner seeking out students who needed alittle extra attention, clarifying instructions when needed, ‘or just providing an encouraging word tothe strugeling individuals in his class, As well, he ‘demonstrated high levels of patience with his overly-energetic or occasionally apathetic students and ‘often found ways to motivate and get them back on task while remaining calm and in contol For these reasons, | strongly believe that Jaret wil become an invaluable addition to the teaching profession and have an immeasurable impact for good on the lives of his student.
