For many years Cy Twombly lived a secluded life. And yet, along with photographing his
environments himself, he allowed a few photographers to document his abodes, fusing furniture
and sculpture to an inseparable blend of art and daily life. This volume presents the best pictures
of his studios and homes in New York, Rome, Bassano in Teverina, Gaeta, and Lexington. With
texts by Nicola Del Roscio and Florian Illies.

ART
Since the 1940s Cy Twombly has created sculptures from everyday materials and objects: boxes,
cans, wooden stands, nails, willow rods, palm leaves. Usually painted with white gesso, they
seem to cancel gravity and own an idiosyncratic, suspended beauty. Volume II presents the
works created between 1998 and the artist's death in 2011, completing this "Catalogue Raisonne
of Sculpture". Edited and with an introduction by Nicola Del Roscio

German painter Karin Kneffel is a major exponent of 21st-century Neorealism. Her lush and
eloquent pictures are perfectly constructed impossibilities. Collapsing heterogeneous places and
incidents in a flawlessly executed, seductively realist manner they highlight painting's unique
ability to simultaneously uphold and destroy illusions. With texts by Annette Tietenberg, Mariam
Kuhsel-Hussaini and others and an interview by Julia Voss with Karin Kneffel.
